OFF TO A GREAT START!Looking back to the end of the summer some eight months ago, it is hard

to remember how we got to where we are now as we get the team ready to race

in Ft. Lauderdale in a week. After we closed on the sale of the facility to the

new non-profit and closed out the summer season, the pool was drained and

nearly $700,000 in renovations were completed. When we re-opened in

September, we had to really scramble to take over operations and get our

programs up and running. By October / November we had gotten a grip on

the flow of monies in and out of the business and had established our basic

operating procedures.

On the “wet” side of things - the more familiar side - coaches were

coaching, kids were swimming and diving and the season progressed even

under the specter of the crumbling economy. Read on for details of a great

start in the newest chapter at Schroeder.

In all, 8500 athletes and spectators, over 27 days, have enjoyed the newly remodeling

contests in the l o c a l c o m m u n i t y.

Playing host to major contests is a big reason the Aquatic Center

was constructed and reinforces why Schroeder

SCHROEDER

Schroeder Claims 1st at 2009 A+, Runners Up at Y State.

Schroeder quality shined in February at the 29th Annual A+ Meet. SSTY bested 68 o t h e r t e a m s a n d 1 1 0 0 a t h l e t e s . Unfortunately the 18 year old steak ended

last weekend when a very deep Madison

West YMCA topped Schroeder. It was sad to see the streak end but MWY had too many and swam very well.

Age Groupers Swim FastNumerous team records were downed this year and many by SSTY’s youngest. Take a look on the team site to see if yours is still there!

13 & O State a Success!The 13 & Over State meet was held at

Waukesha South HS and was a very important meet for the 13/14 Schroeder athletes. SSTY’s boys and girls swam

incredibly well - above Alex Nennig and Chris Meyers went 1 - 2 in the 200 back.

SSTY Shines at speedo MeetSSTY entered no relays and was still

10th overall. It was a very focused meet for

SSTY’s Senior swimmers.

Take a tour of the facility website and

see the depth of programming offered

at Schroeder. We are making a serious

attempt to bolster current programs

and start up new ones. View at:
