In 1895 Ignaz Schwinn and partners founded the Arnold, Schwinn & Company . In 1916 Schwinn sold it’s one-millionth bicycle and by 1968 Schwinn produced one-million bikes annually. In the 1920s one of every seven bike sold in the county was a Schwinn built bicycle. By the 1950’s the Schwinn name was on one of every four bicycles sold. In the 1970’s Schwinn had achieved pop culture statues and to this day the Schwinn name is the single most recognized bike brand in the country.
