WHAT IS SCIENCE

Science is from a Latin word (sciatica) which means “knowledge”

science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on scientific method.

Science is understanding through disciplined research

HOW DOES SCIENCE WORK

Science is where someone observes accurate information then documents it. Normally this is done when a science project is said to be made.

In science, predictions that are not said to be accurate they are called theories.

THE ART OF SCIENCE Science is also used for different types of

things. Testing a product is a major reason science

is needed. To make sure a product is safe to distribute to the public.

There are special chemicals used to test the product and reveal the harmful effects of it.

In science there are all types of graphs and chart used to determine measurements for science.

There is one special type of graph, but it’s really a table , called the Periodic Table. The periodic table is a table of organized elements due to there chemical properties. They are organized in periods which are the vertical columns on the periodic table. The horizontal columns on the periodic table is called groups.

They are also organized by metal , nonmetals , and metalloids.

Metals: shiny, good conductors of heat and electricity, have a high a high density

Non metals: Their surface is dull and they are poor conductor of heat and electricity

Metalloids: an element that has both metallic and nonmetallic properties, as arsenic, silicon, or boron.

FAMOUS FOR SCIENCE?

You may know of many famous scientist before our time. One of them who is very famous is Isaac Newton. He is famous for discovering Newton’s Laws of Motion. Which has three parts to it. Newton’s first law of motion states that an object in motions will remain in motion and an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an on coming force.

Newton’s second law of motion is force equals mass times acceleration(f=M x A)

Newton’s third law of motion states that for every action there is a reaction.

Example: Diving off a inflatable tube into a lake will cause the tube to push away. The action was diving into the water the reaction was the tube pushing away.

FAMOUS FOR SCIENCE

Another contributor to the science world is Galileo Galilei. Galileo was actually a famous astronomer, which is the study of stars. Galileo was the first to clearly state that the laws of nature are mathematical. Galileo was one of the first Europeans to observe sunspots. Galileo also worked in applied science and technology, inventing an improved military compass and other instruments.

In science we use words like; kinetic energy: energy associated with

motion Potential energy: energy stored in an object

due to its position joule: The basic unit of work or energy. freezing point:the temperature below which a

liquid turns into a solid

Astronomy is also a part of the study of science. Its the branch of physics that studies celestial bodies and the universe as a whole. Basically it’s a study of the universe and every thing in it.

THEORIES

Theories are predictions that scientist create when thy are not positive of an event. In science there have been all kinds of theories. Like for instance the theory of how dinosaurs disappeared off the face of the Earth. The most well known theory is The Big Bang Theory. It is the theory of how scientist and researchers say the universe was created.

One other theory is the black whole theory. According to the general theory of relativity, a black hole is a region of space from which nothing, including light, can escape.

THE UNIVERSE

The sun is our universe’s largest star. It is apart of the big bang theory. The sun is so hot no human alive has ever been able to with stand the temperatures of the sun. It impossible for any one to reach the sun because the gravitational pull is to strong and addition to that our bodies could not handle that kind of heat.

THE UNIVERSE

The sun including nine other planets are what make up our solar system. The Planet closest to the sun is Mercury which is 44.3 million miles away from the sun. Then there is the planet is Venus whose temperature ranges from 900F+/- 50F (about 500°C +/- 32°C) at the surface.

The planet after Venus happens to be our beloved planet Earth which is about 92,955,887.6 miles from the sun.

Following the planet Earth is the planet Mars. Mars is 141,600,000 miles from the sun. This is 227,883,110.4 kilometers.

Next is the planet Jupiter. If you’re ever researching for Jupiter you will notice there is a red cloud on the face of the planet. That red cloud just so happens to be a storm.

Our solar system is located in what is called The Milky Way Galaxy. It is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the local Group of galaxies. Its name is a translation of the Latin, referring to the pale band of light formed by stars in the galactic plane as seen from Earth.

In space there are rock called asteroids. Asteroids are small Solar System bodies in orbit around the Sun. they are smaller than planets but larger than meteoroids. A meteoroid is a sand- to boulder-sized particle of debris in the Solar System. The visible path of a meteoroid that enters Earth's(or another body's) atmosphere is called a meteor, or colloquially a shooting star or falling star. If a meteor reaches the ground and survives impact, then it is called a meteorite. Many meteors appearing seconds or minutes apart are called a meteor shower. The root word meteor comes from the Greek meteōros, meaning "high in the air".

CONCLUSION

Science can be used for many things. Such as researching a chemical, testing a chemical,ect. Science can be used to discover new life and even life beyond the stars. Illnesses can be cured and diseases can be prevented. Science is the best study of basic life and all of our surroudings.
