City of Lucknow, well known for hospitality, is gearing up for a warm welcome you with its unique flavor of "Pahle Aap" culture.Preparations are on peak for UPDACON-Lucknow. Our Organizing committee is doing hard to make this event memorable. This historic city of "Great warrior Maharaj Lakshman" and "Nawab Wajid Ali Shah" is being ready for a gala academic feast on 17 & 18 November 2012 on the occasion of UPDACON-LUCKNOW. Our scientific program is ready with faculties of national & international repute. For the first time we are getting foreign faculties at a state conference in Uttar Pradesh.
As we have already crossed one third of total diabetic population of world i.e. approx 61 million, it becomes mandatory to the specialists of other disciplines of medical science to know Diabetes because Diabetes has its complications in almost all parts of human body causing end organ damage. So this time we have tried to associate with the specialists of other disciplines too including topics like Rheumatological complications of Diabetes, 2nd commonest cause of blindness by retinopathy, obstructive sleep apnea, oral and periodontal complications of Diabetes. I am sure that "Perioperative management of Diabetes" and Sessions of Diabetic foot will be of use for surgeons and anesthetists'. Intensivists may find "Common Errors in management of hyperglycemic emergencies in a patient of Diabetes" useful for them. Topics of current interest like "Vitamin D deficiency and its role in metabolic complications", SGLT-2 Inhibitor, Continuous Glucose Monitoring System and Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion, and need of vaccination in diabetics shall be discussed with eminent faculties of India & abroad, sharing their experiences.
Apart from this we have organized exclusive sessions on "Juvenile Diabetes" and "Diabetes in Pregnancy" and I am happy to share that our obstetrician and pediatrician colleagues are enthusiastic enough to make these sessions really useful for your day to day practice. For these sessions separate registration is also available. People interested can register themselves for these sessions only.
Lucknow has got the honor to host this conference second time after 2002. This time we are going to Add an attraction for the young researchers to start cash prize for 1st and 2nd best poster display of Rs 2500/- and 1500/- respectively in the name of "Sri Hari Shankar Maheshwari Best poster award". Winners shall be given plaque and certificates too. Hope It will encourage young researchers to deliver their best in the interest of people to fight against Diabetes.
Other than this free paper session, Best paper award for platform presentation, post graduate quiz, Best research award, Fellowships in social and academic category with our most prestigious Dr Sircar-USV Oration shall remain attraction for participants. We the members of organizing committee look forward for your active participation in conference where you will get an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas with world class faculties as well as with your collegues.
