Who are we?

• The Spanish Foundation of Science and

Technology (FECYT) is public insitution born in

2001 and dependent on the Spanish Ministry for

Science and Innovation.

• To foster Science and Innovation and to bring

them closer to Society and giving responses to

the expectations and needs of the Spanish

System of Science and Technology

Students: 77 % satisfaction

92.7 % would repeat

Secondary School teachers: 64.7 % satisfied with students’ implication

88.2 % would repeat

University teachers: 76.4 % satisfied with students’ implication

82.5 % would repeat

59.51% of students considered that their participation in the Programme can help in their choice of careers in the future.

Conclusions

• Perceived as very useful to increase the interest and understanding of Science and Technology

• No gender bias: same interest for girls and boys

• Next steps: Impact analysis on the election of future careers

• Potential extension of this initiative to a European sphere

• 2011: 1.200 students / 20 universities

• Public-private collaboration

• Budget: 1,190 k€
