Remove the Vehicle’s Engine c. Cover.

Remove 6 Clips.•

HoodSwitchInstallation.2.Place the Vehicle in Park with a. the Parking Brake set.Disconnect the Negative b. Battery Terminal.

Note the Battery Cable Position • as it will be re-installed in the same position.

CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal.

Dislodge the Hood Latch d. Assembly.

Remove 3 Bolts.•

Make sure to hold the Hood Switch by its sides.

Make sure the Hood Switch Lever is positioned properly.

If the Hood Switch is Broken RES will not function.

Release the Spring from the f. Hood Latch.Install the Hood Switch with g. the Switch Lever underneath the Hood Latch Trigger Lever.Reinstall the Spring to the h. Hood Latch.

Remove the Hood Latch e. Cable from the Hood Latch.

Route the Hood Switch i. Sub-Harness as shown.Connect the Hood Switch j. Sub-Harness Connector to the Vehicle’s Pre-Connector.

Secure the 2P Connectors k. to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.Secure the Hood Switch l. Sub-Harness to the Bottom Hole of the Vehicle’s Brace using 1 Wire Tie.

Connect the Hood Switch m. 2P Connector to the Hood Switch Sub-Harness 2P Connector.Wrap the 2P Connectors n. with 1 Foam Tape.

Reinstall the Hood Latch o. Cable to the Hood Latch Assembly.

Reinstall the Hood Latch p. Assembly.

Position the Bottom Hood Lock • mount behind the Vehicle Brace.

NOTE: Make sure to Torque the Bolts to 70.8 in•lbf (8.0 N•m) in the specified order.

Route the Hood Switch q. Harness underneath the Hood Latch Assembly.Secure the Hood Switch r. Harness to the Hood Latch Assembly with 1 Wire Tie.

CAUTION: Make sure not to secure Hood Latch Cable with Hood Switch Harness.

Disassembly.3.Remove the Driver’s Side a. Step Cover.

Disengage front inner sill clip and • front clip.

Disengage rear inner sill clip and • rear clip.

Hold ends up keeping guide • pins up and slide sill forward to disengage remaining clips.

NOTE: Make sure to carefully follow steps above to avoid breaking sill plate clips.

Remove Driver’s Side b. Cowl Cover.

Remove the Driver’s Lower c. Dash Side Panel.

Open the DTC Connector Cover.•

Remove the Lower Steering d. Column Cover.

Use a Flat Blade Jeweler’s • Screwdriver wrapped with Electrical Tape to release the clips.

Insert the Key into the Ignition and • turn it to on.

Turn the Steering Wheel from • Right to Left to access the Holes.

Dislodge the back Clips on both • sides.

Release the Front Clips on both • sides.

Wrap the Airbag in a Blanket f. or the like and place it on top of the TVIP box.

CAUTION: Position the Airbag as to Prevent stress on the Airbag Harness.

Dislodge the Driver’s Knee e. Airbag carefully.

Remove 4 Bolts•

CAUTION: Do not disconnect the Airbag Connectors.

Remove the Center Cluster g. Panel.

V4ONLYSecure the V4 Harness’s a. White Tape Marker to the Vehicle Harness right next to the Harness Clamp with 1 Wire Tie.

Remove the Driver’s Side h. Audio Bracket.

Remove 2 Bolts.•

Secure the 2P Connectors b. to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

Cut the Wire Tie securing the c. V5 8P Connectors.Cut 4 Wire Ties securing the d. V5 Harness.

Disconnect the V5 8P e. Connector from the Vehicle’s 8P IG Connector. Disconnect the Vehicle’s f. 8P Connector from the V5 Harness’s 8P Connector.

Cut 2 Wire Ties securing the g. V5 Harness.

Disconnect the V5 h. 2P Connectors.

Discard the V5 Male 2P • Connector’s Harness.

Remove the Tape securing i. the V4 2P Connector.Disconnect the 2P Connector j. from the V4 Harness.

Discard the 2P Jumper Connector.•

Connect the V4 Male k. 2P Connector to the V5 Female 2P Connector.

Secure both the V4 and l. V5 Harness’s White Tape Markers to the Vehicle Harness right next to the Harness Clamp using 1 Wire Tie.

Secure the 2P Connectors m. to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

Fully extend the Steering n. Wheel Column.

Release the Tilt and Telescopic • Lever.

Route the V4 Harness’s 8P o. Connectors towards the Steering Column Area.Secure the V4 Harness to p. the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

CAUTION: Make sure the V4 Harness is not placed between the Vehicle Harness and the Steering Motor.

Disconnect the Vehicle’s q. 8P IG Connector.

Plug the V4 8P Connectors r. in between the Vehicle’s 8P Connectors.

Secure the 8P Connectors to s. the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

Bundle up the 8P Connector and • Harness as shown.

CAUTION: Make sure not to include the Yellow Airbag Wires when securing the 8P Connectors.

Secure the V4 Harness to t. the Vehicle Harness with 3 Wire Ties.

NOTE: Place the V4 Harness parallel to the Vehicle Harness.

Disconnect the Vehicle’s 1P u. Pre-Connector located on the right side of the Junction Box.

Connect the V4 Harness’s 1P v. Connectors in between the Vehicle’s 1P Connectors.

Secure the 1P Connectors w. and Relay to the Vehicle Harness with 2 Wire Ties.• V4 Relay should be secured to

the Vehicle Harness as shown.

Route the V4 Harness’s RED x. wire toward the front of the Junction Box.

Locate and Disconnect the y. Vehicle’s 48P Connector from the Junction Box.

Release the Black Connector • Lever.

Remove the Black Connector z. Lever.

Release the lock on both sides of • 48P Connector.

CAUTION: Do not force the lever.

Lift the Terminal retainer Clip.aa.

CAUTION: Do not pull out the Retainer Clip.

ab. Insert the V4 Red Wire Terminal into the indicated location on the 48P Vehicle Connector.

VERIFY: Terminal Pins are properly inserted and do not come out.

Close the Terminal ac. Retainer Clip.Re-attach the Black ad. Connector Lever.

Secure the V4 RED Wire af. to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

Secure the V4 RED Wire ag. to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

Discard the Protective Sheet • C .

Attach RES ECU Bracket to b. the RES ECU.

Using VDC approved Cleaner c. and cleaning method, clean the area indicated on the ECU Bracket.• Do not clean the RES ECU.

Attach the Protective Sheet d. A on the edge of the ECU Bracket as shown.• Do not place sheet beyond the

Red Line.

• Make sure the Protective Sheet adhere tenaciously to the surface of the Bracket.

Close the hood, enter the vehicle and close all doors. Place the shift lever in the “P” (Park) position, set the parking brake and make sure the Vehicle is off.

Perform LookFor

1 Press the remote control’s lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds.

The hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts. The hazard lights flash repeatedly for 10 seconds.

2 With the engine running, pull the hood re-lease handle.NOTE: Some Vehicles may require you to exit the Vehicle and pull up on the Hood.

The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once. The security alarm triggers. (only if equipped with OE Factory Alarm, not Genuine Accessory alarm, and only if armed)

3 Move the shift lever out of “P” (Park). Attempt to start the Vehicle using the remote.
