Smart City Mission Details of the Scheme: The Smart City Mission is an ambitious programme of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The mission will cover 100 cities and its duration will be five years (FY2015- 16 to FY2019- 20). The objective is to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and give a decent quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment and application of ‘Smart’ Solutions. The focus is on sustainable and inclusive development and the idea is to look at compact areas, create a replicable model which will act like a light house to other aspiring cities. During the FY 2020-21, a budget provision of Rs. 100 Crore (Rs. 50 Crore as Centre Share and Rs. 50 Crore as State Share) has been made. Status of Shimla Smart City Limited (SSCL):
Shimla was got selected under SCM in June, 2017. (2017 - 2022)
The SPV has been Notified on 09/08/2017 and registered under the Companies Act, 2013
on 01.01.2018.
The Shimla Smart City proposal is of Rs. 2905.97 Crore with 53 Projects.
Out of 53 Projects, 28 most doable projects have been identified and are given to line
departments
o 2 components of Rs. 0.91 Cr. have been completed
o 40 components of Rs. 152.88 Cr. have been awarded /under implementation.
o Tender floated for 35 components Rs. 82.59 Cr.
SSCL has received Rs. 100 Crore (GOI funds Rs. 58 Crore and GoHP Rs. 42.00 Crore) and
Rs. 34 Crore have been released to SSCL in FY 2019-20.
Rs. 68.00 Crores have been released by GOI as Central share recently which is being released
by GoHP.
SSCL has utilized approx. Rs. 89.50 Crore.
UC amounting to Rs. 89.07 Crore has been submitted to GoI on 31.08.2020.
