Hi everyone, I hope you managed to complete some or all of last week’s work. The kahoot quiz is just for fun so don’t forget to click on that link too. I know it is much harder to complete the work at this time of the year and to stay motivated in the good weather but this is your last full week of the academic year 2019- 2020 so try to stick at it. I can’t believe I haven’t seen you at all this school year. I am very disappointed that this is the case but we need to do as the government tell us and stay safe. It is nice now that playgrounds are open so hopefully you will get to enjoy a few visits to some nice places over the summer. I booked the zoo for July. It will be Josh and Róisín’s first trip to the zoo. Josh will love it because he is very much into animals now as well as tractors and diggers. I really do miss you all and will be more than ever looking forward to September but in the meantime stay safe and have fun with your family. Next week’s work will include puzzles and some activities or ideas for both you and your family for over the summer holidays. Stay safe, Mrs. Hurson Comprehension Support and Vocabulary – ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ I am going to go through the tricky words in your comprehension reading that Mr Hayden has assigned for you this week. Hi everyone,

I hope you managed to complete some or all of last week’s work.

Stay safe,

Read over this vocabulary before reading the story in your book. I have explained all the words that you might not be familiar with in the story.

Hope you are finding the SNIP exercises enjoyable and they’re helping you learn the spelling of the words. Continue onto Session 10.

One of your spellings this week is ‘some’. The word ‘some’ is a homophone. Use the poster below to help you with this spelling.

The word ‘there’ is also on your spelling list this week. It is also a homophone. Use the poster below to help you.

Another one of your spellings this week is ‘again’. This word is OFTEN misspelt and OFTEN used so try your best to get this one right!!!!

Look at the poster below to see another tricky word that is OFTEN misspelt!

Sometimes mnemonics help us learn spellings. I think ‘People Eat Omelettes People Like Eggs’ is a good one to help with the spelling of the word ‘people’.

3 rd Class Friday Corrections 19 th June

Well done on all your efforts this week boys and girls!

You can correct your SNIP Session 10 work with the answers on the next three pages.

These words are great to know how to spell as you may use them a lot in your written work. Whatever words you misspelt in your ‘test of mastery’ / Friday Test rewrite them a few times until you feel you can confidently spell the word. It’s a good idea to keep all your spelling work together and next week to check over the words from this week and see can you spell them all.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mrs. Hurson
