s a t I p n Say two words
This simple game needs no materials just good listening and lots of energy. The game should be played outside if possible. Tell your child to sit down and listen carefully. Use any of the sounds above. When you say two words that begin with the same sound, your child should stand up as fast as they can, but stay seated if the words do not begin with the same sound.
Eg sun, sock STAND pig, apple SIT
If playing with more children, you can let the children be the leader calling out the words.
Activity 2Last week we blended the word sat
Start by saying each sound slowly and continue by saying the sounds faster and faster until your child is able to hear the word.
This is called blending.

Listen to the video again and stop it before you hear the word.
This time try to guess the word Now what words can you remember? Can you draw a picture and write a sentence using that
word.
Listen to the story and look at the words while you are listening. You will know some of the tricky words . Look out for the words that you know. You might also be able to blend and read some words.

What tricky words did you know in the story? Did you see any words hiding in other words? What sounds did you know in the story? Can you blend the sounds to read the words?
You would also have known some shapes. Draw the shapes that you saw and write its shape
name.
