MANAGER BIO

Spencer AdairManager Since February 1, 2007Baillie Gifford & Co Limited.

Spencer joined Baillie Gifford in 2000 and is an InvestmentManager in the Global Alpha Team. He became a Partnerin 2013 and has also spent time working in the FixedIncome, Japanese, European and UK Equity Teams.Spencer managed the Investment Grade Long Bond Fundwhilst being a Fixed Income Investment Manager and theEuropean portion of wider Global portfolios whilst in theEuropean Team. He has also spent time with our EmergingMarkets Team. Spencer has been involved in the GlobalAlpha portfolio since inception in 2005 and has focusedexclusively on this portfolio management responsibilitysince early 2007. He graduated BSc in Medicine from theUniversity of St Andrews in 1997, followed by two years ofclinical training in Edinburgh.

Malcolm MacCollManager Since February 1, 2007Baillie Gifford & Co Limited.

Malcolm joined Baillie Gifford in 1999 and spent his earlyyears in the UK Small Cap Team before joining the NorthAmerican Team. When the Global Alpha Team wasestablished in 2005, Malcolm became one of the threeInvestment Managers for the strategy. This remains his soleportfolio management responsibility. Malcolm became aPartner in 2011 and, in 2021, he became Joint SeniorPartner with overall oversight of the investmentdepartments. Malcolm graduated MA in Economics andHistory in 1998 and MLitt in Economics, Politics andManagement in 1999 both from the University of StAndrews. He is a member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Helen XiongManager Since May 1, 2021Baillie Gifford & Co Limited.

Helen joined Baillie Gifford and 2008 after graduating fromthe University of Cambridge with a Masters of Philosophy(MPhil), Economics. She was a Senior Analyst on theGlobal Alpha team from 2012-2014 and was named USEquity Portfolio Manager in 2014. She concurrently the USequity scout for the Global Alpha team until 2020. Helenhas taken over Charles Plowden’s position within theGlobal Alpha team upon his retirement and was named aPartner of the firm.
