Example – Standard Reporter

• Enter a postcode in the “quick profile” to provide a simple area profile e.g. IV2 3SY

• Use the Data Zone code to find out more about this particular postcode area through the “area profile”.

• Next we might want to compare this Data Zone with another nearby or compare it to a higher level of geography (e.g. intermediate geography), which can be done using the “compare 2 areas” option

• Next we might want to compare this Data Zone with another nearby or compare it to a higher level of geography (e.g. intermediate geography), which can be done using the “compare 2 areas” option

• We can also look at variation across areas, for example by comparing crime rates across all the Data Zones within the constituency of Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber

Example – Advanced Reporter

• More complex tables, charts and maps can be produced using the “Advanced Reporter”

• Following our example, we might want to look at Intermediate Geography by Local Authority (as this provides more detailed crime data)

Example – Advanced Reporter

• More complex tables, charts and maps can be produced using the “Advanced Reporter”

• Following our example, we might want to look at Intermediate Geography by Local Authority (as this provides more detailed crime data)

• We can then choose the data we want to include in our tables, for example crime data and health data

• These data can then be downloaded and added to other datasets, for example, a local population survey including questions on crime and substance use issues.

• We can also produce simple maps that contrast the concentration of crime rates (e.g. drug offences) with other data (e.g. hospital admissions for drug misuse)

Hospital admission rates for drug misuse, per 100,000 of the population in Highland
