God’s People, Seeking God’s Presence, and God’s Power
November 2019 Dear Church Family, “Our world is full of greater pressures and demands than ever before: relational pressure, time pressure, financial pressure, political pressure, and more.” This all too true statement is from the introduction to a new book by Dr. David Jeremiah. But he does not leave us there. He goes on to say “But there is an answer to those pressures!” “There’s no need for you to feel ill-equipped for the journey of life. That’s because God Himself has already equipped you to overcome whatever comes your way. Though you may not realize it yet, God had given you everything you will ever need not just to sur-vive, but to thrive.” The book leads one to look into the “Word of God” for the answers to all of our problems. God has given us His word to lead us to salvation and then to show us how to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. God has given us promises that he has never broken. One of those great promises is found in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘what shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” There are many other promises that let us know that God cares about all our needs. Many times, when someone gets saved, they will ask, does this mean that I will never have any more problems? If you have been saved for any length of time, you know that is not the way it is. After we are saved we do not stop living in our mortal flesh. We do not stop living in a pressure filled world. But, the wonderful thing about being saved is that we have the Lord Jesus Christ living in us to give us strength to overcome the world. The Apostle Paul said, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” My greatest desire as your pastor is to help each of you through the “Word of God” to be able to face the pressures of this world and to look forward to the next world where all tears are wiped away and there will be no pressure. Let us be faithful to our wonder-ful Lord and walk together as His children. Judy and I love you. Yours in Christ, Pastor J. D.

share with your church family. Also, please sign the clip-

who will be eating. This will help the Hospitality Com-
mittee know how many turkeys to purchase.

“School Break Bag” De-
cember Project ~ During the
month of November, the church
will be collecting 10 oz. cans of
soup for the “School Break Bags”
given out by the United Christian
Ministries. Reusable shopping
bags are filled with mostly child
friendly items to assist children
who eat free breakfast & lunches
at school. The children are out of
school for two weeks in December and this bag of food is to help
feed them during this break. United Christian Ministries has
asked us to collect 400, 10 oz. size, cans of soup. Our youth will
box up the soup and take them to be packaged December 1st,
along with other youth in the county.
On-going Mission Projects ~ Please remember our
two on-going mission projects: peanut butter and jelly for
United Christian Ministries and canned tuna and chicken for
The Community Table. There is a great need for help with
food among people in our county. Please remember the peo-
ple these two agencies help as you do your grocery shopping
for your family.
