Founded in 2001, d a g g and s t a c e y had a clear vision at its start. To make clothing that is a subtle balance of enduring, effortless style, quality craftsmanship, and femininity.Based in Toronto, d a g g and s t a c e y began by producing limited run collections primarily made from recycled materials and vintage fabrics. This process honed their skills resulting in an idiosyncratic approach to design and pattern drafting that the label has become know for.

Page 15: Scout Magazine September 2010

d a g g and s t a c e y launched their full women’s collection in Spring 2003. Often influenced by traditional bespoke tailoring, theirs are clothes to wear, treasure, and come to be irreplaceable. The company designs and manufactures their line exclusively in Toronto in collaboration with local independent trades people to a high standard of construction. Dagg & Stacey seek out quality natural and innovative sustainable fabrics, taking a socially and environmentally conscious approach to fashion.www.daggandstacey.com

The vision is threefold

To create clothes that enhance the natural power, grace, beauty and

She wants the best for herself and those she loves. She lives, or is in process of creating, the life she dreams about. She is strong and honours her integrity. She s not afraid to stand out or to blend in,it all depends on what she feels like.

For her, choices of what to wear and how to think are not basedon what others may or may nor think about her:Her choices are based upon how they affect her experience of lifeand how she feels about herself. She knows her strengths. One of these is the capacity to learn how tolove, heal and grow strong by challenging her perceptions of weakness.

Who is She?She is the one for whom I create my collections.

Name: Autilia Antonucci City: Perth Australia

What the future holds: Lot’s of styling, finishing my degree in Journalism and Creative Advertising and then hopefully working for a fashion magazine.

Big dream: To become a Fashion Editor or Art Director Jewelry: I literally feel naked without a chain with one of my chosen sentimental charms I feel like wearing on the day. Right now it’s my cameo and acorn. Fashion tip: Don’t be afraid being different and experimenting, because you’ll often find that when you like things on other people it’s because they stand out. Also play with fashion ‘no no’s’ , sometimes they look rubbish but when they work they work ( proud socks and sandals offender ).  Favorite city: London (love)

On my Ipod: -Favorites right now are- Black rebel Motorcycle Club, The Dead Weather, Tame Impala, The Kills, Dandy Warhol’s, The Beatles, The Virgins, Of Montreal, MGMT, Kasabian, ( I think I should stop there ).

First thing in the morning: Coffee.

Last thing before bed: Write my ‘to do list’ for the following day

Current obsession: As it is winter here I am obsessed with trousers. Wide leg, tapered, high waisted and Hareem are my current favorites . Ohhh and how could I forget Jeffery Campbells “On The Run” collection which is close to perfection!

NameAmanda Tiong.

CityAuckland, New Zealand.

What the future holdsUncertainty. I’m at a career crossroads at the moment. There’s just so much I want to do and experience outside of my current field. But blogging definitely has definitely become a platform for that. Its allowed me to share my inspirations, experiences, experimentation and passion in styling and photography. As one half of Accessory of Crime, I just love challengingmyself and experimenting with fashion and imagery, and of course discovering a little more about myself along the way. We’ve recently revamped our e-store and with that underway, we’re looking for new projects to take on and take further. And hopefully more traveling too.

Big DreamsIt’s not about getting to the top of anywhere or being the best at anything. But to do what I love to do, what I’m passionate about and for that to evolve into a job thats made for me.

JewelryA ring on each hand and a tragus ring - 24/7. It’s all pretty minimal.

Fashion TipContrary to what ‘they’ tell you, there are no ‘dos and donts’. Fashion is about making it your own - being comfortable in what you wear.

Favorite cityIt’s gotta be Vienna. A 48-hour stopover in this city is purely too short! It’s so vibrant, quirky and individual. It felt likeeverywhere I turned, I saw something inspiring - with a little twist to it - (maybe its just me, being from way down in theSouthern hemisphere): the street lamps, wooden seating in the train station, cute shop canopies, love of color in thestreets… I can see myself living in this city.

On my iPodShe and Him, Phoenix and Chromatic Flights have been on rotation in the last month or so.

Favorite foodNothing in specific but when I scan a menu, these things always catch my heart: haloumi, lentils, calamaris, artichokes, tako and grapefruit.

Drink of choiceWater with a wedge of lemon or anything zingy + refreshing and mojito.

Favorite FlixOff the top of my head, the last thing I watched that was really worthwhile: Melinda and Melinda by Woody Allen.

A must read: Monocle.

MottoDream with your eyes open and your heart ready to take action.

Style iconSo many inspiring people. The quirky Chloe Sevigny. Boho Abbey Lee Kershaw. Daul Kim. Effortless Lou Doillon. From the past, Francoise Hardy, Marianne Faithful, Penelope Tree and Nico.

First thing in the morningI’ve made a habit of lying in bed and checking my email on my phone.

Last thing before bedI drown myself to sleep with mental lists of things to do the next day only to forget by morning.

Current ObsessionI’m obsessed with many things: Traveling, Prints (ikat, kilim, Missoni), All things 70s, The Vampire Diaries, Shearling,Tattoos, Dandelions, Dandelion tattoos, Vintage cameras, Hessian pillow covers and Moroccan rugs etc.

While she travels frequently, Courtney Brooke will forever call the rolling, foggy hills of New England her home.

Courtney pulls inspiration from images of the past and the rich history of the environment that surrounds her. Self-discovery and personal conviction came quite easy for Courtney, and allows her to explore her true spirit. This has been the precursor to a vigilant creativity that cannot be destroyed.

Courtney identifies herself as an artist rather than a photographer. She is in love with the human form and experience. With that love she collects its strange history on film. Seeing the beauty in everything, even flaws, seems to be her natural gift. Her images solidify the feelings of romance and awe, rich with color and haunting natural light; one can feel her inspiration in the heat of an orange sun on the horizon. She reveals an overwhelming sense of nature and mystery.

Courtney Brooke’s love for the 1960’s and 70’s is haunting tantalizing and romantic, she captures a beauty that synthesis eras.
