Considerations
Inventory Movements Standard From and To location.
Can be configured to allow or disallow different items in the same inventory location.
Can be configured to only allow certain products in a designated location.
Can be configured to automatically place product on hold.
Inter-Warehouse Transfers
Operators can build Inter-warehouse transfers from a mobile device or thru the Scout Administration utility.
Operators can pick products for an inter-warehouse transfer against a warehouse transfer created thru Scout or the customer’s ERP system.
Replenishments or Let Downs
Based on orders shipping today.
Based on bin capacity.
Based on quantity on hand.
- Messages optionally sent to replenishment operators as soon as bin capacity is below minimum QOH.
Cycle Count & Physical Inventory
Cycle count is blind.
Supports basic undirected cycle counting.
Supports directed cycle counting using “ABC” rules.
Physical counts - Based on current velocity and number of operators calculates how much time is remaining to complete the count.
Exceptions can be posted immediately or approved first.
QA Functions Scout can place items,
pallets/containers, lots and locations on QA Hold.
- Operator designates hold reasons from a list.
Product on QA hold cannot be shipped.
PickingPicking can be configured as follows:
Single Order Pick (single or multiple operators) Zone Pick Batch Pick Orders may be assigned to individuals. Scout can be configured to allow over-picks. Scout can be configured to enforce FIFO rules.
- Specific operators may override FIFO designation.
- Supervisors can authorize a FIFO exception thru the operator’s device or via the Scout Administration utility.
Based on pick velocity, Scout can:- Determine how long it will take for an order to be pick complete.
- Warn appropriate personnel if a shipping window is at risk.
Space Utilization
Based on TI/HI and Bin dimensions. Scout can recommend that certain product be placed or
consolidated in specific inventory locations to maximize space utilization.
Scout determines whether product can be stacked.- E.g. You can stack 2 high but not 3 or you can’t stack at all.
Pack/Verify
Scout will advise of incorrect product, shorts or over picks.
Packing label can optionally be printed once product has been pack/verified.
Shipping Scout can be configured to
designate specific orders be loaded at specific docks.
- Scout validates that the dock door scanned matches the selected order.
Scout can be configured to print a Bill of Lading automatically once all items have been shipped.
Scout can be configured to track weights to minimize risks of trucks being overloaded.
Scout can interface with shipping systems such as UPS and FedEx, ADSI Ship It.
