program, the program for girls will serve girls who have
• completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old,
• or have earned the Arrow of Light and are at least 10 years old,
• or are age 11 but have not reached age 18.

Plans for Scouts BSA Troops of girls are in-progress nationwide.

Scouts BSA program is Scout-led
• Scouts lead the program, plan all events, and elect their own
leadership
• Adults Scout Leaders provide mentoring, skills training,
guidance, support and safety
• Scouts learn from doing and making course corrections, adult
leaders intervene when necessary (but always with two –deep
leadership)
• Parent involvement in leadership and committee positions is a
must for this program. The program exists because of
volunteers like you!

The adult responsible for
working directly with the
Scouts to help them create
the program for the troop.
The Scoutmaster trains boy
leaders to run the troop by
providing direction,
coaching, & support.
The adult appointed by the
chartered org. & registered
as an adult leader of the
BSA. The unit committee
chairman appoints &
supervises the unit
committee & unit leaders.
The direct contact between
the unit & the Chartered Org.
This individual is also the
org.'s contact with the district
committee and the Local
Council. The Chartered Org.
Rep. appoints the unit
committee chair.
Adult leaders age 18 or
older who assist the
Scoutmaster in delivering
the troop program.
