Look over to the left. Do you see 1 enormous elephant?There are 2 eyes staring at you!

Elephant trunks can grow to be 2 metres long.

What do you see under that tree?Do you see 2 sleepy lions?2, 4. There are 4 eyes staring at you!

Lions sleep about 20 hours

a day.

Oh, look quickly now!Do you see 3 striped zebras?2, 4, 6. There are 6 eyes staring at you!

Zebras can walk about

20 minutes after they are born.

Each zebra has its own pattern of

stripes.

Look in front of us. Do you see 4 tall giraffes?2, 4, 6, 8. There are 8 eyes staring at you!

That's about the height of 4 children.

Ostriches can grow to nearly 3 metres tall.

Adult hippos eat about

40 kilograms of grass each night.

Baboons live in large groups called troops.

There can be more than

50 baboons in 1 troop.

Look ahead of us. Do you see 8 thirsty warthogs?2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. There are 16 eyes staring at you!

Some warthog tusks grow to be

30 centimetres long.

Warthogs live about 15 years.

Look by the river. Do you see 9 sunning crocodiles?2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. There are 18 eyes staring at you!

Nile crocodileshave 60 teeth.

If 1 tooth falls out,a new tooth grows in.

Look over there. Do you see 10 spotted African wild dogs?2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20. There are 20 eyes staring at you!

African wild dogs hunt in packs of 6 to 20 animals.

African wild dogs can run at speeds of over 50 kilometres an hour. That's about as fast as cars travel on streets in

your town.

The sun will set very soon. Tonight we camp under a full moon.
