Dear Friend of Scripture Union,
We are grateful for Gods wondrous works through the ministry of Scripture Union in our annual report
for the scal year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. In this report, youll nd a summary and highlights of
Scripture Unions activities during that period.
Bible engagement, helping people of all ages to read and live Gods Word, the Bible, is the focal point of all
we do. For adults, the main vehicles for promoting this engagement are The Essential Programs
(The Essential 100, The Essential Jesus, and The Essential Questionprograms) and the daily Bible reading
guides,Discovery andEncounter with God.As youll read in this report, these programs continue, by Gods
grace, to be used to bring people into Gods Word and closer to him. In particular, we experienced 27%
growth in the nation-wide impact of Scripture Unions ministry, largely through the customization of
The Essential JesusBible reading planners for the Son of God feature-length movie.
For children, SUs Bible engagement programs are SuperKids, SUs summer outreach ministry, and
PrimeTime, our after school outreach. Both reach primarily urban, at-risk children with Gods Good News
in Jesus. They continue to grow and touch many young lives for Gods glory.
Indeed, God blessed us in many ways, not the least of which was nancially. An audited nancial statement
is available on request.
So we present this report with grateful hearts to God for the successes of the past year and for the continuing
privilege of declaring his glory in the year ahead.

Bible Guides: Backbone of Bible Engagement Ministry
I just wanted to say that I have been using your magazine for 5 years
this coming summer. I love it! A friend got me hooked when I was 32
and I got a few others to join with me.
Encounter With God is the best daily devoonal I have ever had.
I am so glad I discovered it. I appreciate the history background to the
passage as well as the spiritual applicaon.
Since 1959, Scripture Union Bible Guides, originally known as
Notes, have helped individuals meet God every day through the
Bible and prayer. Learning the ways that we have helped
never gets old.

Bible Engagement for Children
SuperKidsprovides an opportunity for children to be safe and not in the streets.
It also gives them tools how to handle situaons in the streets.
Rebecca, SK Volunteer
Engaging children with the Bible has been the inspiraon for Scripture Union since
its incepon the summer of 1867. That was when a young Brish oce worker,
Josiah Spiers, took children from his Sunday School to a special meeng of hundreds
of children. The children were lively and enjoying themselves and seemed to under-
stand the Bible teachings. Spiers was greatly impressed with this informal and eec-
ve approach to ministry to children. He soon began holding regular services of his
own for children with aendance in the hundreds as The Childrens Special Service
Mission (CSSM), which later became Scripture Union.
SuperKids Programs
I had a lot of fun, it was something dierent every day. Kira
I like the games and the Bible worksheets.Ian
I really like singing songs!--Diego
SuperKids Missions meet for 5 to 10 days to reach kids with the Good News
of Jesus using our SuperKids curriculums. In the summer of 2014, SuperKids
programs reached 6,683 kids at 125 program sites and volunteers were trained to
teach Good News to You through the SuperKids Gospel of Luke.
A SuperKids survey was commissioned summer 2014 as a follow-up to the 2010-2011
Barna Survey. The 2014 ndings revealed that 92% of children surveyed felt that what
they liked the most about SuperKids
was that they felt more loved by
God and that they had learned new
things about Jesus (77%).
Even more encouraging, 85% de-
scribed that because of SuperKids
they want to read the Bible and
that they believe the Bible is true
(62%). None of the children thought
the Bible was boring.

PrimeTime Program
PrimeTime is a faith-
based aer school program
jointly developed with The
Salvaon Army. Aimed at
children 6-12 years old,
the uniqueness of this
childrens Bible engage-
ment program is that it was
carefully wrien for reach-
ing children who are not
familiar with the Bible.
During 2013-2014, Prime-
Time aer-school outreach
programs expanded its
reach to at-risk children.
Programs were added in
Pennsylvania, Massachuses, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Texas and Colorado and
resulted in 84 programs ministering to 3,482 children between 1st and 6th grades.
SuperKids is a good foundaon for children to learn about the Bible. It is great to see
children from the neighborhood that dont normally come to our church.
