3Objective and Approach

Problem: how to deal with Social Media overload (too much information to digest and process)Answer: Use SmartStream to help identify the content and information most important and relevant to you

A major objective for the Smartstream is to intelligently sorts the various real-time streams (FB, TW, …. ) to which SDC users are subscribed.

Broadly, two options to build such SmartStream capabilities:• Passive Techniques – Collecting and analysing Data about the nodes and edges within each user’s social graph(s)

to determine the relative importance of senders and their messages• Proactive Techniques – actively engaging the user in the sorting process, by asking them to rank/rate senders,

messages and/or other subjects

Using these techniques effectively create a score for each update or status message received. Updates will then be displayed in order of their scoring

Key to the effectiveness and success of this is the creation and iterative development of the SDC data tree, understanding and analysing the relative importance of different forms of user behaviour, and thereby providing the overarching methodology to make the SmartStream work effectively.

4How the SmartStream will work?

The Data tree will allow SDC to decipher the importance of each update to your personally (today, all updates are treated as of equal importance)This will then be displayed in Smart Stream mode in the AppAs well as hiding complexity of multi-network communication, SDC goes one step further operating as a filter.
