27 year-old Naugatuck native, Elmar Oliveira, performs Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the WSO. Three months later he wins the Gold Medal at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky International Competition.

The WSO launches “Bravo Waterbury,” a music education initiative based on Venezuela’s el sistema movement. Dante Galuppo continues his 75-year tenure with WSO in current role as Librarian.
