Second Chance is a delightful 50’ reverse style cruiser stern narrowboat, built in 2007 by Andicraft and fitted out by Calcutt Boats. Her current owners have had her since new and have kept her in excellent condition throughout. She was repainted in 2011, last blacked in Spring 2019 and her engine was last serviced in November 2019. The cruiser stern is a spacious 8 foot in length and includes a couple of very comfortable padded folding seats. Steps lead down into the good sized galley. On the port side there is the Shoreline fridge (with ice box), 500 DIT oven, hob and grill and a number of cupboards, shelves and drawers. On the starboard side there is a 2 seater dinette which converts to provide an aditional single berth and which also contains some useful storage space underneath. Next comes the homely saloon with a large radiator, a couple of comfortable leather captains chairs with footstools and more cupboards and shelving. There is also plenty of room in here for a sofa or sofa bed if preferred by the new owner. The bathroom is port side off corridor and contains a hip bath with shower over, a ceramic basin and the Thetford cassette loo (with two spare cassettes). Finally in the front of the boat is the large bedroom (over 9ft in length). This houses a huge bed (6ft x 5ft 6in) which stretches across the full width of the boat. There is a large wardrobe containing both hanging space and shelving and under the bed there is additional storage space. The engine is a BMC 1.8, there are 4 batteries (1 x 90ah, 3 x 125ah), twin alternators and a 1.6 Victron Inverter/ Charger. Heating is provided by the Hurricane diesel fired system to two radiators and a towel rail and hot water is provided by the engine or the heating system. Second Chance is a lovely boat.
