COMMENIUS MEETING IN ALVERCA - PORTUGAL

14th – 16th May, 2012

AGENDA:

13th May, 2012 (Sunday):

All delegations arriving to Lisboa. The participants were all welcomed at the Lisbon Airport and taken to

their hotel booked in advance.

14th May, 2011 (Monday):

(9h30) - Leaving the hotel by train to Sintra.

(11h00) - Palácio da Pena in Sintra. The teachers visit one of the most romantic places in our country. They have

learn why the palace was built in that place and the historical reason.

(12:30 – 14h30) - Lunch time. Offered by Portuguese teachers.

(14h30) – Visit to village Palace of Sintra. In this visit the teachers could see the influence of the different

architectural features in this place.

(19h30) – All the delegations went to the hotel.

15th May, 20112 (Tuesday):

(9h30) – Meting at the hotel entrance.

(10h00) – All the delegation took the subway to Praça do Comércio, in Lisbon. The teachers of the different

countries have walked throw Baixa Ponbalina and one of the Portuguese teachers explain the history of this part

of the town.We visited churches, toke the elevator (Elevador da Santa Justa) and take a site view of the city. We

have seen the ruins of Carmo Church and walked throw Bairro Alto and Chiado.

(12h00) – Lunch time

(14h30) – After we took a public transportation (Electric tram) all the teachers start a guided visit to St Jorge

Castle and understand the how the construction of the building was influence by different village people.

We saw one of the ways that the people inside the castle live and took and preserve water from the rain, to drink

during the year.

After this visited we walk around in the city and visited a church called Sé de Lisboa.

(19h00) – All the delegations arrived to the hotel and have free time to spend around.

16th May, 20112 (Wednesday):

(9h30) – Pick up the delegations in the hotel, and they went by train to our school.

(10h15) – The day started to visiting a large agriculture area in the country called Lezírias of Vila Franca de Xira.

In this visit the delegations learn more about the process of agriculture in our country and how they save natural

resources, specially the water.

(12h30 – 13h30) – All the teams went to our school and take the lunch.

(13h30) – The teachers started a meeting to discuss subjects about the projects and see if all the goals were

achieved.

The Portuguese team show the research made with theirs students about how people spent energy in their lifes

and compared with the responses of the other countries. Beside this, Portuguese team shared some works made

by the students. The Spanish shared the video of all the activities we have made in the project and the printed

posters that have been selected. The Turkish team started to share the works they have done we their students

and show us pictures. Then the teams concluded that all the activities were achieved and the goals were all

completed. There for we decided to continue to talk with the students and local community about the

importance of saving energy and the impact of fuel fossils have in our lives and the environment.

17th May, 2011 (Thursday):

City tour and all the participants return to their countries.

THE OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT

1. All the partners introduced their countries and cities. Therefore, there has been a cultural interaction

among all the partner countries.

2. The Project was introduced to a great number of people. The Project team consisted of sixty participants.

The Project was presented nearly to two hundred people.

3. We were provided with the chance of comparing the education systems of the participant countries. The

probable facilities of the schools were compared and we started to know the participant countries better.

4. We made studies about the environment and the probable problems of the environment. Moreover, We

discussed about how to create a clean and habitable environment.

5. We started to learn more about the partner countries since we had the chance to study their historical

and cultural backgrounds.

6. The participants were informed about the energy production difficulties and energy production costs.

Also, the importance of saving energy was emphasized. The people were informed about how to save

energy and what to do in order to save more energy.
