INTRODUCTION
The Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) - 2011 will be held for admission to First Year Masters
Programme in Engineering / Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture. Candidates having valid GATE / GPAT rank / Non-GATE/Non GPAT are required to appear this test. This test will be conducted by
OJEE-21011 on 1st and 8th May 2011. Candidates having valid GATE /GPAT rank will be given preference during counselling.
IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. The candidates should download the e-Information Brochure and read it carefully.
2. The candidates should prepare the demand draft of Rs.550/- in favour of “OJEE 2011”, payable at
Bhubaneswar before filling up of the on-line application form.
3. There after the candidates should fill up the on-line application form available on our website
www.odishajee.com.
4. The candidates should enter/choose/click on the required field in the appropriate spaces in the on-line
application form.
5. The candidates should enter the complete address with giving their names and PINCODES carefully.
6. The candidates should ensure the correctness of their mailing addresses, PINCODES, telephone
numbers, if any, with STD codes and mobile numbers.
7. The candidates should enter their correct e-mail addresses for communication.
8. The candidates must quote the six digit application number (after submission of the online application
form this number will be generated automatically) as a reference in all their future correspondences.
9. The online application form submitted by the candidates must be complete in all respects. Incomplete application or application filled in a language other than English will be summarily rejected. 10. Options such as Category and Reservation ones filled by the candidate in the application form cannot be
changed at a later stage under any circumstances.
11. The candidates should only exercise their options with respect to category (State, Outside State) and
reservation type (SC/ST) that they can substantiate with documentary evidence during counselling.
12. All the demand drafts for this examination should be made in favour of “OJEE 2011”, payable at
Bhubaneswar.
13. The Candidate after filling the on line application form should take a print out of the CONFIRMATION SLIP and send it with a recent photograph (not older than 2 months) pasted on the appropriate place along
with a DD of Rs.550/- in favour of “OJEE 2011” payable at Bhubaneswar by speed post/ regd. post/courier,
in the following address Chairman JEE Cell, Gandamunda, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar-751030 so as to reach by 21st March 2011, Confirmation slip with DD of Rs.550/- received after due date of 21st March 2011 will not be considered. 14. The candidates should not send any other documents except Confirmation slip and DD of Rs.550/-.

15. The admission will be cancelled if the candidate fails to submit the certificates, mark sheets,
other necessary documents as required at the time of counseling or fails to substantiate the claim with respect to reservation, category, nativity, date of birth, qualification filled during filling up of the on-line application. 16. The admission of the candidate may also be cancelled at a later stage, if certificate/ mark sheets / any
other documents are found to be forged or manipulated.
17. Any dispute arising out of PGAT-2011 shall only be settled and decided under the jurisdiction of the
Hon’ble High Court of Orissa.

The Following documents must be presented to the verifying officers on the day of Counselling for both GATE/ GPAT as well as Non-GATE/Non-GPAT candidates for Verification. a. Rank Card.
b.Demand draft of Rs.16,000/- in favour of “OJEE 2011” payable at Bhubaneswar as part of admission fee.
c. Another demand draft of Rs.350/- in favour of “OJEE 2011” payable at Bhubaneswar as counselling fee.
Which is non refundable and subject to change.
d. Original Birth Certificate / 10th Pass Certificate.
e. Pass Certificate of the Qualifying Examination..
f. Grade/ Mark sheet of Qualifying Examination.
g. Original GATE/GPAT score card (for GATE/GPAT candidates)
h. College Leaving Certificate.
i. Residential Certificate in the prescribed form (Appendix-I).
j. Relevant SC/ST Certificate in the prescribed form (Appendix-III).
k. Any other relevant certificate as mentioned in this Brochure.
All colleges offering M.Tech/M. Pharm/ M.Arch. programmes are either constituent or affiliated colleges of
the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Orissa, Rourkela.
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Online application form duly filled in should be submitted on or before 15th March, 2011 .
i) Hand-delivery of forms at the JEE Cell will not be accepted.
ii) The OJEE-2011 committee will not be responsible for any delay or loss of confirmation slip and DD in
transit while sending them via regd. post/speed post/ courier.
1.2 The Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT)-2011 will be held on 1st May, 2011 for M.Pharm. and 8th

May, 2011 for Engineering/Technology/Architecture. The Examination schedule is given below.

1.3. The candidate should not send any hard copy of the application form, he/she has to submit the application form through on-line only.
1.4. For seeking admission to more than one course in M.Tech the candidate should fill only one
online application form. 1.5 For correspondence in future the applicant should mention his/her six digit application number. The
candidates are advised to keep a copy of the Confirmation slip.

PGAT 2011 will be conducted to draw the merit list of successful candidates for admission into:
i) Master of Technology in different programmes for Engineering Colleges / Institutes in the State of Orissa
affiliated to BPUT.
ii) Master in Pharmacy in different programmes for Pharmacy Colleges / Institutes in the State of Orissa
affiliated to BPUT.
iii) Master of Architecture in Architecture Colleges / Institutes in the State of Orissa affiliated to BPUT.
Note : List of Colleges/Institutes and availability of seats approved by AICTE for the Year-2011 with affiliated to BPUT will be considered for counselling. This will be published in our website www.odishajee.com before counseling.
1.8 Fee Structure : 1.8.1 Fees payable to colleges:
Fees payable to colleges at the time of admission will be decided by the competent authority.
1.8.2.(a)Fees payable to Biju Patnaik University of Technology: The University will charge the following fees from all the students admitted to its constituent/affiliated colleges.

1.9 Age limit : There is no age limit for taking admission to MTech/ MPharm/M.Arch.. However the OJEE-2011 will not
be responsible if the candidate in future faces any problem in his/her service where such requirement for
age exists. The candidate should take admission at his/her own risk as regards to age.
1.10 Medical Fitness : OJEE-2011 will not be responsible if a candidate faces difficulty in employment on medical ground.
1.11 Merit List : Separate merit list for all qualifying candidates shall be drawn on the basis of PGAT- 2011 results in the
following manner.
i) Candidates seeking admission to Master Programme in each branch of
Engineering/Technology/Architecture on the basis of marks obtained in the PGAT Test.
ii) Candidates seeking admission to Master in Pharmacy on the basis of marks obtained in the test.
iii) GATE/GPAT candidates will be given preference during counseling.

2. Categories: 2.1 Orissa State Candidates (S- Category)
For admission to colleges under state category one has to satisfy at least one of the following three criteria. They will be eligible for admission to Government / Private colleges on the basis of their merit rank.
(a) The candidate must have passed/ appearing in academic session 2010-2011 Qualifying examination from any of the recognized Institution in the State with minimum eligibility criteria as clause-4.
(b) Parents of the candidate other than (a) must be permanent nativity of Orissa. To claim benefit under this category, a candidate shall furnish at the time of counselling a permanent nativity certificate, in prescribed form (Appendix-I) from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar of the area where his/her parents have permanent nativity.
(c) Sons / daughters / spouse of the permanent employees of Government of Orissa / Govt. of India/Govt. of Orissa undertakings/Govt. of India undertakings, serving in the State of Orissa at the time of application. To claim the benefits under this category, candidate has to submit a certificate from the employer of his/her parents/spouse in the prescribed form (Appendix-II) at the time of counselling.
Provided that candidates claiming any reservation shall have to produce the nativity certificate in Appendix – I during counseling. 2.1.1 Reservation of Seats under State Categories : The reservation of seats in different colleges under various categories will be as per the policy of the Government of Orissa. The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories are subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable. (a) 8% and 12% seats in all colleges are reserved for candidates belonging to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe by birth (not by marriage or adoption) respectively. Separate merit lists will be drawn up for each reserved category. The vacant seats if any belongs to a

reserved category shall be filled up by the candidates belonging to the general category. (b). Candidates applying for SC/ST reserved category shall furnish SC/ST certificate from the Tahasildar of the place of birth in Orissa at the time of counselling in the format given in this brochure (Appendix - III) along with nativity certificate (Appendix - I). NOTE : Scheduled caste/Scheduled tribe persons who have migrated from their state of origin to another state for the purpose of seeking education, employment etc., will be deemed to be scheduled caste/ tribe of the state of their origin and will be entitled to derive benefits from the state of origin and not from the state to which they have migrated. (Vide Govt. India Letter No. BC/160 14.1.82 SC & BCD/ dated 22nd Feb,1985). Thus, SC/ST candidates from Orissa who are staying outside the State have to produce SC/ST certificate from the competent authority of Orissa State during counselling. NOTES : 1. ST and SC seat reservations shall apply to the permanent native of Orissa state only.
2. Seats available under General Category in any course are those available after deduction of the
number of seats pertaining to all the Reserved Categories from the total number of seats available for that
particular course.
3. If a candidate does not report during scheduled time for counselling, he/she will be treated as absentee
and no seat will be kept reserved for him/her. A candidate failing to report for counselling will not be
permitted to participate in the counselling subsequently under any circumstances.
4. Seats, if any, remaining vacant in the ST reserved category can be filled in by candidates belonging to
General category. If all the seats belonging to SC reserved category are not filled up due to non-
availability of candidates belonging to SC category, such vacant seats may be filled up by candidates
belonging to General category for the benefit of students / institutions.
5. Seats reserved under all other category will be filled up by general category candidates in case the
same are not filled up.
In case of any change in the percentage of reservation of seats/reservation criteria mentioned in the clause above on the basis of guidelines from MHRD/AICTE/Government of Orissa, it will be intimated through the NOTICE in the website www.odishajee.com to all the merit listed candidates. It will also be published in our website and in the notice board at the counselling venue.
2.2 Non-Resident Indians :(NRI) NRI means children or wards of an Indian citizen who ordinarily residing outside India and hold an Indian passport. These category candidates are eligible for admission to private institutions as per their eligibility criteria. The decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.
2.2. Outside State Category : Outside state candidates are not eligible for admission in Government Colleges but they are eligible for admission in private colleges as per their eligibility criteria.
2.3. Choice of College and Discipline:
Selection for admission will be strictly on the basis of OJEE rank. A candidate failing to report during the scheduled date and time of counselling as prescribed will not be given any chance subsequently under any circumstances.

3. Admission Rules And Procedure PGAT refers to the Post Graduate Admission Test for admission to Master Programme in Engineering /
Technology / Pharmacy/Architecture in the academic year 2011 - 2012.
3.1. The reservation policy of the appropriate authority given in the brochure for allocation of seats during
counselling will be strictly followed.
3.2. Admission is strictly based on PGAT-2011 merit rank and choice of the candidate with respect to
Institution and course given during the counselling.
3.3. Candidates will be called for counselling as per the schedule to be published in the website as well as
given in the rank card.
3.4. During Counselling all certificates in original will be verified. No further verification at college level is
required. For records of the college, a set of attested copies of the certificates/marksheet etc. will be
collected during counselling and sent to the colleges.
3.5. A candidate selected through the counselling for a course in a college has to pay the balance fee (if any)
at the college level.
3.6. A candidate has to pay Rs.16,000/- through a separate A/c Payee Bank Draft drawn in favour of “OJEE 2011” on any Nationalised/ Scheduled Bank payable at Bhubaneswar. The balance after deduction of the
University fee of Rs.4,500/- (approx) shall be paid to the admitting college for adjustment against the
tuition and other fees payable to the college (for both GATE/GPAT and Non-GATE/ Non-GPAT
candidates).
3.7. A candidate must demand head wise break up of fees that he/she pays at the college level.
3.8. A candidate once admitted through the counselling to a college forfeits the fee of Rs.16,000/- paid by
him/her, if he/ she later decides not to join the college / course in the allotted college.
3.9. No candidate can be admitted to a college on the basis of marks scored in qualifying examination.
3.10. A student admitted to a college against a course cannot be transferred to another course in the same
college.
3.11. A student admitted to a college cannot be transferred to another college in same course or in another
course.
4. Minimum Eligibility Criteria : 4.1 For admission to 1st Year Master Degree courses in Engineering/Tech., Pharmacy :
4.1.1 Engineering / Technology : GATE qualified and Non-GATE candidates with Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant field with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA (45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates) in the respective engineering branches or in MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science (for M.Tech in Computer Science /IT branch only) /M. Sc. Electronics (for M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering only) with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA(45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates)
4.1.2. Pharmacy : GPAT qualified and Non-GPAT candidates with Bachelors in Pharmacy or equivalent degree from a recognised university with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA(45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates).

4.1.3 Architecture : GATE qualified and Non-GATE candidates with Bachelors of Architecture or equivalent degree with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA(45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates)from a recognised university.
5. Subjects for appearing at PGAT-2011 : Candidates are required to appear the PGAT-2011 test (i.e. Post Graduate Admission Test). Candidates having valid GATE score will be given preference during counseling. a) All candidates seeking admission to 1st year Master programms in Engineering/ Technology/
Architecture will have to appear the respective courses examination.
b) Candidates seeking admission to M.Pharm course will have to appear in Pharmacy.
c) Detailed Syllabi for the PGAT Test will be as per BPUT regulations except test for Industrial
Engg/Industrial Engg. & Management (Test code-09). For syllabus of Industrial Engineering(Test code-
09) please refer the syllabus of GATE.

a) Read the instructions carefully before filling the application form.
b) Please note that your name, your parent’s/guardian’s name, and your date of birth should exactly be
the same as in your High school or your first Board / Pre-University examination certificate. Any departure,
whenever discovered, may lead to cancellation of your candidature.
c) Your application must be complete in all respects. Incomplete application or application filled in a
language other than English will be summarily rejected without any notice.
d) Options filled by you in the application form cannot be changed at a later stage under any
circumstances.
e) It is suggested that you should keep a print out of the confirmation slip and keep a copy of it after submitting the same.

7.1 Name of the Candidate Enter your name in CAPITAL LETTERS as given in your original certificate of the High School or
equivalent examination. Leave one and only one blank space between any two words of the name.
7.2 Date of Birth
Enter the date, month and year of your birth as per the English calendar and as recorded in your School/
Board/Pre-University examination/Birth certificate. Use numerals 01 to 31 for DATE, abbreviations JAN,
FEB etc. for MONTH, and the last two digits of the YEAR of birth. For example, if born on 23rd JANUARY
1988 the date should be entered as follows: 23 JAN 88. Click the appropriate figures in each column.
7.3 Name of one Parent / Gurdian
Enter the name of one of your parent or guardian exactly as in your 10 class or equivalent certificate, if
given. Write the name of your father if no name is given in the 10th certificate. Within any word of the
name, do not leave any blank box. Leave one and only one blank box between any two words of the
name.
7.4 Category Refer Clause No. 2 of this brochure for ascertaining the category to which you belong. [State (for Orissa
Candidates), NRI - Non-Resident Indians, Outside State (for Outside Orissa Candidates)]. Choose/click
the appropriate category.
7.5 Reservation Candidates belonging to S-Category (eligible to claim reservation as per Clause 2.1) and seeking

Candidates having degree other than the above mention courses opting for Industrial Engg./ Industrial Engg. & Management or Environmental Engineering have to appear the tests in corresponding subjects. Like candidate opting for Industrial Engg has to appear test on Industrial Engg./ Industrial Engg. & Management (Test code- 09). Similarly candidate opting for Environmental Engg. has to appear Test on Environmental Science and Engineering (Test code-08).
7.15 Option for place of centre of Examination:
One should give three places of examination of their choice (as given in clause-6) in order of preference. Allocation of centre will be made subject to availability and facilities existing. If sufficient candidates in a centre chosen by candidate are not available, a candidate may be allotted to place not included in her/his choice for operational convenience.
7.16 Complete Mailing Address :
Enter the complete postal address to which any communication, if required, is to be sent till 1st April, 2011. The address must include your name, C/o name if required, and other details including the PINCODE.
7.17 PINCODE of Address for Communication : Enter PINCODE in the space provided. 7.18 Phone Number including STD Code
Enter your phone number, if there is any, with STD code, on which you can be contacted or a message can be left for you. Enter it correctly.

Enter the total annual income of your parent / guardian. Candidates, are required to produce the income certificate issued by the Tahasildar/competent authorities as and when required.
7.22 Examination Fee (Bank Draft Details): Before filling on line application form the candidate should make a bank draft of Rs. 550/- (Rupees five hundred fifty) only from any nationalised / scheduled bank in fovour of “OJEE 2011” payable at Bhubaneswar. 7.23 Declaration by the Candidate
A declaration is to be given by the candidate that all the particulars given in the application are true to the best of his/her knowledge and belief. In the event of suppression or distortion of any fact like category or educational qualifications or nationality etc. made in the application form, his/her admission/if acquired degree is liable for cancellation. He/she has to abide by the decision of the OJEE committee. He/she has to abide by the rules and norms of the institute where she/he would be admitted.
7.24 Submission of the On-line Form
The candidate should ensure that the information entered/filled out are correct. If not, this could be corrected/updated before clicking the SUBMIT button. Once you ensured that the information are correct, then click the SUBMIT button.
7.25 Confirmation Slip
After clicking the SUBMIT button on the on-line application form, an confirmation slip will be automatically generated and displayed on the screen indicating candidate’s name, category, reservation, application number and course applied for etc. at the same time one copy of the confirmation slip will send to the email provided by the candidate. This ensures registration of candidate’s for PGAT-2011. Then take a

print out of this by clicking the print option. Then send one copy of the confirmation slip with photograph along with DD of Rs.550/- in favour of “OJEE 2011” payable at Bhubaneswar to Chairman, JEE cell latest by 21st March, 2011.
7.26 ADMIT CARDS : Admit Cards will be issued to the candidates tentatively on 5th April, 2011. If any candidate fail to receive the admit card by 25th April, 2011 then download the admit card from the website. In case the candidate find it difficult to do the same, he/she may contact the JEE cell indicating the six digit Application number.
8.0 Rules for Admission Test : i) The Post Graduate Admission Test will be held as per the scheduled date and time given in the table.
ii) The medium of examination is English.
iii) The examination hall shall be opened to the candidates half an hour before the examination commences.
No candidate will be allowed to enter in the examination hall without a valid original / duplicate admit
card(down loaded from the website) .
iv) Candidates are required to take their respective seats at least 15minutes before the commencement of
the examination, strictly according to the sitting chart notified earlier by the Centre Superintendent.
v) In no case a candidate be allowed to enter the examination hall once the examination has started.
vi) Attendance will be taken by the invigilators on the Attendance Roll sheets provided with full signature of
candidates against their Roll Number.
vii) No candidate shall be allowed to leave the hall temporarily during the examination.
viii) Candidates suffering from any disease which renders their presence in the examination hall undesirable
in the interest of other candidates will not ordinarily be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidates
are not allowed to have substitute writer.
ix) Candidates should bring their own black / blue ball pens. Books, printed papers (other than their Admit
Cards), manuscripts, or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, cell phones and electronic diary
calculators etc, should not be taken into the examination hall.
x) Candidates are not permitted to talk to each other in the examination hall. No one should receive any help
from or assist another in any manner. Malpractice of any form detected during or after the examination
would entail not only cancellation of candidature but also award severe punishment as deemed fit by the
OJEE committee.
xi) A candidate wishing to say anything should stand up in his/her seat and remain standing until the
invigilator attends to him/her. He/she should on no account leave the seat or make any noise to draw the
invigilator’s attention.
xii) In any other matter not provided in these rules, the Centre Superintendent is empowered to take
necessary decisions.
9.0 Examination Procedure / Valuation methodology : There will be multiple choice type questions covering syllabus of BPUT in
engineering/pharmacy/Architecture of respective branches. Each question shall have four choices. The

answer of the question have one correct answer and the examinee shall have to darken the oval against
the appropriate answer in the OMR sheet. Each correct answer shall fetch four marks whereas each
incorrect answer will fetch a negative mark and an unattempted question will fetch zero. Separate merit
list for all qualifying candidates shall be drawn on the basis of OJEE- 2011 results in the following manner.
(i) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master of
Technology for state category.
(ii) One for each code, having number 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09 for Master of Technology
for state category.
(iii) One for each code, having number 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09 for Master of Technology
for state category for ST candidates.
(iv) One for each code, having number 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09 for Master of Technology
for state category for SC candidates.,
(v) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master of
Technology for outside state category.
(vi) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master in
Pharmacy for state category.
(vii) One common rank will be generated for Master in Pharmacy for ST candidate only for the state
category.
(viii) One common rank will be generated for Master in Pharmacy for SC candidate only for the state
category.
(ix) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master in
Pharmacy for outside state category.
(x) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master of
Architecture for state category.
(xi) One common rank will be generated for Master of Architecture for ST candidate only for the state
category.
(xii) One common rank will be generated for Master of Architecture for SC candidate only for the state
category.
(xiii) On basis of the marks secured in the test one common rank will be generated for Master of
Architecture for outside state category.
10.0 Procedure for seat allocation The distribution of seats is as follows: (i) 5% seats will be reserved for NRI.
(ii) 12% seats will be reserved for ST category for state candidate only.
(iii) 8% seats will be reserved for SC category for state candidate only.
The above reservation of seats in different colleges under various categories will be as per the policy of the Government of Orissa. The percentage of seats to be reserved for different

categories is subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.
11.0 Counselling information
The schedule of counselling and venue will be notified through our website, the same will be intimated to the candidate through the rank card.
12.0 Detail Seat Matrix:
The intake capacity of the colleges based on approval of AICTE along with grant of affiliation from BPUT for affiliated colleges shall be considered for counselling.
13.0 No objection Certificate Candidates from Government/Private organisations are required to submit “No Objection Certificate” from
their employer at the time of verification of certificates. Any suppression of facts may lead to cancellation of studentship. 14.0 If any matter not provided under these rules, the OJEE-2011 Committee is empowered to take
