Life After Death
“Do you believe in life after death?” the boss
asked one of his employees.
“Yes, Sir.” The new employee replied.
“Well, then, that makes everything just fine,” the
boss went on. “After you left early yesterday to
go to your grandmother’s funeral, she stopped in to see you!.
Palm Sunday
It was Palm Sunday and, because of a sore throat, five-year-old
Johnny stayed home from Church with a sitter. When the family
returned home, they were carrying several palm branches. The
boy asked what they were for. “People held them over Jesus’
head as he walked by.”
“Wouldn’t you know it,” the boy fumed, “the one Sunday I don’t
go, he shows up!”
Children’s Sermon
One Easter Sunday morning as the minister was preaching the
children’s sermon, he reached into his bag of props and pulled
out an egg. He pointed at the egg and asked the children,
“What’s in here?” “I know!” a little boy exclaimed. “Pantyhose!!”
Support A Family
The prospective father-in-law asked, “Young man, can you
support a family?”
The surprised groom-to-be replied, “Well, no. I was just planning
to support your daughter. The rest of you will have to fend for
yourselves.”
My deepest thanks to all parishioners of St. Timothy
parish for all you do to increase charity and to take on
sacrifice.
Fr. Ed
First Time Ushers
A little boy in church for the first time watched as
the ushers passed around the offering plates.
When they came near his pew, the boy said
loudly, “Don’t pay for me daddy, I’m under five.”
Climb the Walls
“Oh, I sure am happy to see you, the little boy said to his
grandmother on his mother’s side. “Now maybe daddy will do
the trick he has been promising us.”
The grandmother was curious. “What trick is that?” she asked.
“I heard him tell mommy that he would climb the walls if you
came to visit.” the little boy answered.
The Water Pistol
When my three-year-old son opened the birthday gift from his
grandmother, he discovered a water pistol. He squealed with
delight and headed for the nearest sink.
I was not so pleased. I turned to mom and said, “I’m surprised
at you, don’t you remember how we used to drive you crazy with
water guns?”
Mom smiled and then replied . . . “I remember!!”
Grandma’s Age
Little Johnny asked his grandma how old she was.
Grandma answered, “39 and holding.”
Johnny thought for a moment, and then said, “and how old
would you be if you let go?”

POPE FRANCIS PROCLAIMS “YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH”
(DECEMBER 8, 2020 – DECEMBER 8, 2021)
Sacred Scripture describes St. Joseph
as “a Just man” (Matthew 1:19) which
can also be translated as “righteous,”
“upright,” or, “he who is virtuous in all
things.” If we want to learn from St.
Joseph, we must begin by imitating the
virtues he practiced daily in his quiet,
hidden life.
The fourth virtue is “Lover of Poverty”. Joseph could count
on nothing in this world to be his stay. Neither his trade nor
property were employed in his first years as father of the
Divine child. He had to abandon all that was his and provide
for them in whatever way was possible as they were on
pilgrimage to Bethlehem, to Egypt, and finally to Nazareth.
For more information about the Year of St. Joseph, please visit
our parish website for more resources so that you can to go
deeper into veneration of St. Joseph and his role in the Holy
Family.
Those who sincerely say ‘Jesus, I trust in You’ will find comfort in all
their anxieties and fears.
There is nothing more man needs than Divine Mercy – that love which
is benevolent, which is compassionate, which raises man above his
weakness to the infinite heights to the holiness of God.
—Shrine of Divine Mercy in Cracow, Poland on June 7, 1997

BLESSED ARCHBISHOP FULTON J. SHEEN ON “MERCY”.
- . . . mercy is the perfection of justice. Mercy does not come first,
and then justice; but rather justice first, then mercy.
- As we show mercy, we shall receive mercy. We harvest what
we sow.
- The Divine Mercy did not identify the traitor, for Our Lord hid
from others the identity of the betrayer. The practice of the world
which loves to spread scandals, even those which are untrue, is
here reversed in hiding of what is true.
When they saw Judas leave, the others assumed that he went on
a mission of charity.

Rabatin, and John L. Swan, pgs 196-197, Image Books, 1989)
CONSOLE HIS HEART WITH YOUR LOVE FOR OTHERS IN HIM
Bring Jesus souls. Instead of trying to fix everything ourselves,
give them in love to him.
Today bring to Me the souls of priests and religious, and immerse
them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me
strength to endure My bitter passion . . . .
Today bring to Me all devout and faithful souls and immerse them
in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought My consolation
on the Way of the Cross. They were that drop of consolation in
the midst of an ocean of bitterness . . . .
Today bring to Me those who do not believe in God and those
who do not yet know Me. I was thinking of them during My bitter
Passion, and their future comforted My heart . . . .
Today bring to Me the souls of those who have separated
themselves from My Church, and immerse them in the ocean of
my mercy . . . . They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I
saw them as earthly Angels, who keep vigil at my altars . . . .
Today bring to Me souls who have become lukewarm, and
immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Those souls wound My
heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing
in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They are the
reason I cried out: “Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be
Your will.”
-Our Lord to Saint Maria Faustian Kowalski, Diary
IN GOD’S PRESENCE, CONSIDER . . .
When I look up, do I see the suffering in the world? In my own
home and community? In the news, a world away? What do I do
about it? Do I bring them to prayer?
CLOSING PRAYER:
Oh dear Jesus, you know all too well the pain your people suffer.
Please help
me bring the wounded hearts to you for your healing. Please help
them to see
your light. I want to work with you on this - on everything. I want
to love them
in you.

CATECHISM CORNER: HOW TO EAT AN ELEPHANT
ONE BITE AT A TIME
Article 639 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
THE mystery of Christ’s resurrection is a real event, with
manifestations that were historically verified, as the New
Testament bears witness.
REFLECTION.
A real live human being was killed and then rose from the dead.
This is not a myth or symbol. Jesus didn’t return as a ghost, or
merely live on as an inspirational memory. He really rose from
the dead. The most honestly we wrestle with that, the more
firmly we will believe it.
PRAYER.
Jesus, help me to really know you and to experience the power
of your resurrection.

Grant healing. Be with us, Lord.
Amen.
