FAITH FORMATION NEWS
Faith Formation Christmas Break The last day of classes for this semester will be on Tuesday, December 19th. The students will be dismissed early from both the Holy Communion classes and the Confirmation classes. All classes will end at 7:30 p.m. Please pick up your children on time.
Youth Group The last day of Youth Group meetings for this semester is Wednesday, December 20th at the regular time.
Sacramental meetings Please be attentive to the rest of the published sacramental meetings scheduled for January 20, 2018 and March 3, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Parents need to attend two meet-ings per year.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass celebration This celebration will take place Tuesday, December 12th at 7 p.m. The youth group will be presenting the play of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the children will be representing the Matchines for this Mass. All students are to report to class-rooms for roll call at 6:45 p.m. Please be on time.

THE FOUR WEEKS OF ADVENT
During the first two weeks of Advent we light the first two pur-
ple candles. The Third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete
(Rejoice) Sunday. On this day we celebrate that our waiting for
the birth of Jesus on Christmas day is almost over. Rose is a
liturgical color that is used to signify joy, so we light the single
pink candle on the third Sunday of Advent. Then on the fourth
Sunday of Advent, the final purple candle is lit to mark the final
week of prayer and penance as we wait expectantly for the
soon-coming birth of the King of Kings.

SJN NOCTURNAL ADORATION SOCIETY
Invites everyone to join us in worship before the Blessed Sacrament every second weekend of the month; our next Vigil will be Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10, 2017.
Our Nocturnal Adoration begins at 8:00 pm Saturday, with an opening prayer and announcements. Mass will be at 9:00 pm and concludes with praying the Rosary of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, Sunday, December 10th.
Nocturnal Adoration is open to everyone; invite a friend, fam-ily member, co-worker or neighbor.

It’s Posada Time at St. John Neumann! God willing our COM-
MUNITY plans to celebrate on SATURDAY, DEC. 16TH after
the 6:00 PM Mass, & we invite everyone to join us. We will
begin with a procession of Mary, Joseph, several Angels &
Shepards leading us in praying the Rosary & heading to our
celebration site on the back porch and lawn. There our fes-
tivities will include Mexican antojitos, hot chocolate, music,
and a piñata for the children to enjoy along with candy bags!
Please make plans to join us in this traditional celebration of
our Catholic Faith! We hope to see many families in prayer
and praise to Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ during this
solemn season of Advent.
