SPECIAL PRAYERS ORACIONES ESPECIALES
La Transfiguración del Señor La Transfiguración del Señor es particularmente importante para nosotros por lo que viene a significar. Por una parte, significa lo que Cristo es; Cristo que se manifiesta como lo que Él es ante sus discípulos: como Hijo de Dios. Pero, además, tiene para nosotros un significado muy importante, porque viene a indicar lo que somos nosotros, a lo que estamos llamados, cuál es nuestra vocación. Cuando Pedro ve a Cristo transfigurado, resplandeciente como el sol, con sus vestiduras blancas como la nieve, lo que está viendo no es simplemente a Cristo, sino que, de alguna manera, se está viendo a sí mismo y a todos nosotros. Lo que San Pedro ve es el estado en el cual nosotros gloriosos vi-viremos por la eternidad. Es un misterio el hecho de que nosotros vaya-mos a encontrarnos en la eternidad en cuerpo y alma. Y Cristo, con su verdadera humanidad, viene a darnos la explicación de este misterio. Cristo se convierte, por así decir, en la garan-tía, en la certeza de que, efectivamente, nues-tra persona humana no desaparece, de que nuestro ser, nuestra identidad tal y como so-mos, no se acaba. Está muy dentro del corazón del hombre el an-helo de felicidad, el anhelo de plenitud. Mu-chas de las cosas que hacemos, las hacemos precisamente para ser felices. Yo me pregunto si habremos pensado alguna vez que nuestra felicidad está unida a Jesucristo; más aún, que la Transfiguración de Cristo es una manifestación de la verdadera felicidad.
REFLEXIÓN
The Transfiguration of the Lord The Transfiguration of the Lord is particularly important to us for what it comes to mean. On the one hand, it means what Christ is; Christ who manifests himself as what He is before his dis-ciples: as Son of God. But, in addition, it has a very important meaning for us, because it comes to indicate what we are, what we are called to, what our vocation is. When Peter sees Christ transfigured, shining like the sun,
with his clothes as white as snow, what he is seeing is not simply Christ, but, somehow, he is seeing himself and all of us. What St. Peter sees is the state in which we glorious will live for eternity. It is a mystery that we are going to find ourselves in eternity in body and soul. And Christ, with his true humanity, comes to give us the explanation of this mystery. Christ be-comes, so to speak, the guarantee, in the cer-tainty that, indeed, our human person does not disappear, that our being, our identity as we are, does not end. The longing for happiness, the longing for fulfillment, is very much within the heart of man. Many of the things we do, we do pre-cisely to be happy. I wonder if we have ever thought that our happiness is united to Jesus Christ; moreover, that the Transfiguration of Christ is a manifestation of true happiness.

Bible Summer Class for Children & Youth-Clase Bíblica de Vera-
no para Niños y Jóvenes Parents are invited to register their children for Bible
classes in the summer. The registrations will be open
all the month of June and the first week of July of the
present year. Last year, 90 children and 40 young peo-
ple participated. We hope this year will increase at-
tendance.

The Parish Rosary Program
It is a simple matter of collecting tally sheets which paris-hioners drop in the collection basket of the number rosa-
ries prayed and publishing weekly, year-to-date and grand totals each week your parish bulletin. In one Michigan parish, St. Philip Battle Creek, over the past 19 years, more than 237,000 rosaries
have been prayed. The Parish Rosary Program has inspired many people to pray the rosary on a regular basis who would not otherwise do so.
Never before has rosaries been so needed for reparation for sin, world peace, political civility, the end of abortion, souls in purgatory, the inten-tions of the Holy Father, discernment between Good and evil, vocations, lukewarm and fallen away Catholics, marriages, and those in the most need of God’s mercy.
There is no better way to say “Yes” to Blessed Mother.

Registrations will be taken after Mass in the breeze-way the weekends of
March 9-10, 16-17, & 23-24. Registrations are due no later than April 10.
A registration fee of $45.00 is asked for each participant.

FEE
Adult chaperones who have taken the SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
