Entertain - this poster is entertaining because just by the positions of the two male actors one is stood more serious as if there is a serious situation and the other on the right is stood more comical. The one on the left is holding two firearms and the other is looking into the distance as if he is distracted by something else. Just by that this poster contradicts itself. Inform - this poster informs us that along with the seriousness of this film there are also some certain aspects of comedy. ‘Big Cops’ may sound to you as very serious and then, ‘Small Town’ then it begins to connect as its saying to you that these are big cops but in a small town, first thing in your head would be, well they cant fit in then? Also the last one says, ‘Moderate Violence’ this implies that there wont be a lot of violence even though, the copper on the left is holding firearms, so there’s the twist. Persuade - this poster persuades the public to go and see the movie, by including ‘guns’ in the poster, which shows that this movie will feature action and excitement. The triangles seen in the poster, single out the Police sign meaning this film is about the police which most people wont like to watch but we can see that the designer has used the actors head and made them look different ways to create certain effects, Simon Pegg is looking on the floor as if he is lost and Nick Frost is looking into the distance as if he is not there, this effect tied in with the police uniform shows us that this isn’t a serious police film which is at times boring-but its actually quite the opposite- it is about the police but its got a gimmick. The gimmick is that these two police officers don’t take the job serious as every other police officers.

Entertain - this film poster entertains us by the body language of the two actors and how they are presented throughout this poster. The actor on the right is positioned in the front and this prospects the image that he is like a protector, a tough and rough man who is determined and can be aggressive, so it has this aura around it that shows that this film can be tense and surprising. The actor on the left is walking quite charismatic as if his experienced and pretty rough. Inform - this film informs us that there is a point where a man will have to provide protection for a certain woman, she may be famous or not but she is very important. ‘Not Every Criminal Wants To Be One’ the slogan of the film, tells us that this man in the right used to be in trouble with the law or used to be in prison and just came out, and gets an opportunity to change his ways because he doesn’t want ‘To Be One’. Educate - this posters color schemes present a grimy aura, and connecting that to the background of sub-urban London, you can already see that this is educating us that London sub-urban can be a dangerous place and gang related criminal activity seems like a common thing.

Age- in this clip of the film we can see that the actors are in a pub, so this could be a reason why this film was rated an 18. Most of the people in this scene in the pub are older as well so this could mean that this film is aimed at the older population Lifestyle- it shows certain lifestyles of a couple of police officers who succumb to drinking to overcome their problems and the story revolves around a burned out cop who is frustrated and tired of his work. These sorts of lifestyles are the dependent of alcohol and similar sedatives to make your life easier and are commonly referred to bad health and severe damages to vital organs so this could be imitated negatively.   Fashion- the fashion sense in this film is a bit of shabby and a bit of classic casual. As the bad guy in this film trailer has shown us he dresses very shabby, this can show us that the bad guy is presented as low life, non-caring and lazy as too he isn’t bothered about his appearance and he couldn’t care about the outcomes of his actions on modern day society. The good guys, police officers outside of work dress quite casually but also with a bit of dignity to show a sign of respect. This film and trailer subliminally tells us that the police care about presentation and professionalism where as the villain/bad guy couldn’t bothered as to how his perceived.

Interests- this film trailer displays interests of gothic fantasy; horror as there is biblical creatures referenced and certain biblical ideas were included that some people in the west would understand. Cultural Identity- the cultural identity of this film looks as if its aimed at more teenage boys and those of fans of the supernatural like Superman, Spiderman, and Van Helsing. The types of materials included on this film are more mythical than realistic, so fantasy lovers are a main priority. Age- in this clip of the film we can see that there are strong violent scenes where wielded weapons are used and are not to be imitated by minors. There are certain scenes with sexual content and so that is why this movie could be rated higher than a 15.
