ACCOUNTINGTransferring to RIC:• Students transferring from CCRI to RIC with an associate’s degree in business administration, accounting concentration, and a GPA of 2.4 or higher will
automatically be accepted as accounting majors and will receive credit for ACCT 201 and ACCT 202. See Section 3 for a suggested program transfer plan.
• CCRI students transferring to RIC without an associate’s degree in business administration, accounting concentration, will be subject to the policies of RIC regarding admission and transfer of credits (including proficiency examinations).
Transferring to URI:• CCRI students planning to transfer to the URI College of Business Administration should major in general studies or liberal arts. The URI College of
Business Administration only accepts transfer students at the junior level. CCRI students must have 60 credits, a GPA of at least 2.50 and have completed the following courses: MATH 1670, MATH 1680, ACCT 1010, ACCT 1020 (or ACCT 1110 and ACCT 1120), ECON 2010, ECON 2020, MATH 1550, MATH 1560, COMI 1100 and ENGL 1410. All other ACCT and BUSN courses are transferable as free electives until a waiver exam is completed at URI. For exam details, contact Assistant Dean Margaret Ferguson, URI College of Business Administration (874-2337). Students not meeting all these requirements may be admitted to University College.

The purpose of the portfolio review is to advise students on course selection and career direction; portfolio reviews are not used in admission decisions.
• The URI College of Engineering does not accept studio courses for general education credit.
• RIC requires all students who wish to transfer program credit for studio art courses to have a portfolio review. This review will determine whether a student will receive art program credit for a corresponding course at RIC (see list below) or if the student will receive elective credit. The portfolio review is not used for admission consideration. The portfolio review is not required for ART 201 or for art history courses. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION / MANAGEMENTTransferring to RIC:• Students transferring from CCRI to RIC with an associate’s degree in business administration and a GPA of 2.4 or higher will automatically be
accepted and will receive credit for MGT 301, MKT 301 and MGT 343. Refer to Section 3 for a suggested transfer plan.
Transferring to URI:• CCRI students intending to transfer to the URI College of Business Administration should major in general studies or liberal arts. The URI College of
Business Administration only accepts transfer students at the junior level. CCRI students must have 60 credits, a GPA of at least 2.50 and have completed the following courses: MATH 1670, MATH 1680, ACCT 1010, ACCT 1020 (or ACCT 1110 and ACCT 1120), ECON 2010, ECON 2020, MATH 1550, MATH 1560, COMI 1100 and ENGL 1410. All other ACCT and BUSN courses are transferable as free electives until a waiver exam is completed at URI. COMPUTER STUDIES• CCRI students with an associate’s degree in computer science intending to transfer to RIC should consider either a major in computer science
(CSCI) or in computer information systems (CIS). Those interested in a CSCI major will receive credit for courses as indicated below. HONORS PROGRAMURI CCRI RIC
Honors programs exist at all three state institutions to encourage academically talented students to engage in special learning opportunities, thus enhancing their intellectual growth. These honors programs share a commitment to academic excellence and student access.
Students transferring to URI from CCRI who have completed honors courses at CCRI are encouraged to apply to the URI Honors Program. Admission to URI Honors Program courses requires a minimum 3.2 GPA. On a case by case basis, CCRI honors projects may qualify to satisfy the “3 credit, 100 level” portion of the URI Honors Program requirements. Interested students should submit a portfolio of their CCRI honors projects together with their CCRI transcript to the URI honors director.
Students transferring to RIC from CCRI who have completed honors courses at CCRI are encouraged to apply to do honors work at RIC. Students will be accepted for honors work at RIC on a case by case basis. Normally, they must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and 24 hours in a diversified liberal arts curriculum. They must also submit an essay and an academic letter of recommendation with the application. Students who have at least 6 general education honors courses to fulfill at RIC may apply to the General Education Honors Program. Others are encouraged to take general education Core 3 (if applicable) and Core 4 in honors sections; to take Honors 351 (Colloquium) and 365 (Seminar) in their junior year; and to complete departmental honors in their respective majors in their senior year.

HUMAN SERVICES / EDUCATION / HUMAN DEVELOPMENT• Students majoring in human services at CCRI are automatically accepted into the human development, family studies department (human services and
early childhood education programs) at URI if they have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have taken the following courses: HMNS 2100 (or PSYC 2030), PSYC 2010, SOCS 1010 (or other 100- or 200-level sociology course), and MATH 1430. Students who plan to qualify for early childhood education certification should note that there is a minimum required GPA of 2.5. Students interested in pursuing a baccalaureate degree in human development and family studies: early childhood education should refer to Section 3 for suggested program transfer plans.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Advanced Placement (AP)Students can take tests through the College-Level Examination Program if they believe they have learned the equivalent knowledge to a college-level course through prior study, professional experience, or independent study. The tests are divided into the general examinations and subject examinations. Students earning at least the score listed on the CLEP or AP chart, will be granted credit at the institution where they are matriculated.
