Read the recipe below and answer the questions below.

UNCLE’S KOK FRIED NOODLES

Recipe

Ingredients :

Noodles

250 g of meat

Lettuce

Chili

3 eggs

250 g of small prawns

Chopped garlic

Chopped onions

Pepper and salt

Steps

1. Soak the noodles in a big bowl.

2. Heat up the oil in the frying pan.

3. Fry the garlic and onions until they are brown.

4. Add in the meat and prawns and fry them for about five minutes.

5. Add in the lettuce.

6. Add in the soft noodles. Fry till it is well mixed with the ingredients.

7. Then, add in the beaten eggs.

8. Finally, add in salt and pepper according to taste.

9. You can add in some chili sauce to make it tastier.

10. Serve it with slices of cucumber and tomato.

Kota Setar, 2 July – More than 200 villagers of Kampung Selasih were left homeless when a fire

destroyed 45 houses in the squatter area yesterday evening. Flames and thick smoke rose high above

Kampung Selasih and could be seen from 10 kilometres away. However no lives were lost, although

the fire almost wiped out the whole village.

The deputy Director of Fire and Rescue Unit, Sebastian Kumaran, said that 6 fire brigades

with 40 firefighters rushed to the scene as soon as the emergency call was received at 3.30 p.m. Due

to low water pressure and houses situated very close to each other, it was a difficult task to put out the

fire. The fire was successfully put out at about 6.00p.m. by the firefighters and the villagers.

Read the passage and answer the questions.

I was manufactured from clay at Oriental Ceramics and was the pride of my factory

because I was the first to be decorated with floral pattern. I was displayed in the manager’s office

together with other magnificent masterpieces.

Every day the caretaker of the office dry cleaned me with her duster. I was always

spick and span.

One day, the manager’s private secretary came into the office to look for me. I was

taken out of from the room. The careless, young lady tripped and fell and landed on the ground.

Luckily, I did not break into two or else I would not able to continue my story. However, there was a

deep cut on my face and I was disfigured.

Having picked me up , this careless, young lady took me back to the office. When

the manager saw me, he was furious with his secretary. He no more considered me his pride and what

was worse, transferred mo to the trash corner.

Days passed, followed by months. I was by then in an extremely filthy state, covered

with dust and cobwebs. The saddest day of my life finally arrived when I was scooped up with several

damaged pots and plates ………….
