400 Hz LOCKING DEVICES400 Hertz locking devices have a unique lockingconfiguration that is not interchangeable withexisting locking configurations. They have beendesigned, tested, and approved for use on 400Hz (400 cycles per second) circuits. This higherfrequency (400 Hz) is used in place of thenormal 60 Hz in certain military, industrial andaircraft applications. Where power, size andweight are important factors, the application of400 Hz, in aircraft for example, permits the useof small, powerful electric motors that result in asubstantial weight reduction.NOTEThe National Electrical Code requires that“receptacles connected to circuits having differ-ent voltages, frequencies or types of current (ACor DC) on the same premises shall be of suchdesign that the attachment plugs used on thesecircuits are not interchangeable.” Thus users of400 Hz and 60 Hz attachment plugs and recep-tacles must segregate the frequencies whenused on the same premises.

400 Hz LOCKING DEVICES400 Hertz locking devices have a unique lockingconfiguration that is not interchangeable withexisting locking configurations. They have beendesigned, tested, and approved for use on 400Hz (400 cycles per second) circuits. This higherfrequency (400 Hz) is used in place of thenormal 60 Hz in certain military, industrial andaircraft applications. Where power, size andweight are important factors, the application of400 Hz, in aircraft for example, permits the useof small, powerful electric motors that result in asubstantial weight reduction.NOTEThe National Electrical Code requires that“receptacles connected to circuits having differ-ent voltages, frequencies or types of current (ACor DC) on the same premises shall be of suchdesign that the attachment plugs used on thesecircuits are not interchangeable.” Thus users of400 Hz and 60 Hz attachment plugs and recep-tacles must segregate the frequencies whenused on the same premises.

400 HERTZ LOCKING DEVICES400 Hertz locking devices have a unique locking configuration that is not interchangeable with exist-ing locking configurations. They have been designed, tested, and approved for use on 400 Hz (400 cycles persecond) circuits. This higher frequency (400 Hz) is used in placeof the normal 60 Hz in certain military, industrialand aircraft applications. Where power, size andweight are im-portant factors, the application of400 Hz, in aircraft for example, permits the useof small, powerful electric motors that result in asubstantial weight reduction.

NOTEThe National Electrical Code requires that“receptacles connected to circuits having differ-ent voltages, frequencies or types of current (ACor DC) on the same premises shall be of suchdesign that the attachment plugs used on thesecircuits are not interchangeable.” Thus users of400 Hz and 60 Hz attachment plugs and recep-tacles must segregate the frequencies whenused on the same premises.

Nylon angle adapters convert 20 and 30 ampere nylon locking plugs andconnectors into space-saving angle devices. The adapter can be used with 82 different20 amp and 30 amp NEMA/ANSI devices, providing the widest choice availablein the industry.
