insecure ISP setup, vulnerable to

identity theft or financial loss

how to secure wireless, vulnerable

to data/financial loss

• ISP Insecure Boxes

• Devices’ updates/security left up to ISP

• Guest networks left open

• Wrong password protocols

• Network not monitored

• SSID being broadcasted

PROPOSAL

• Display proper setup of a wireless

network with in depth techniques

• Use Ubiquiti Unifi platform to

setup and display networks

• Show wireless best practice for

both home and business

THE APPROACH

• Purchase quality equipment based on

ISP approved list

• Remove ISP equipment and install

modem and UniFi

• Download and configure UniFi controller

• Adopt and upgrade UniFi access points

• Disable SSID broadcasting

• Enable proper password protocol

• Configure guest VLAN networks

PURCHASING

• Motorola/Arris Surfboard

usually on supported list

• Ubiquiti UniFi AC AP Pro

• Any other Ubiquiti equipment

you may want (not required)

• Call ISP and give modem serial

to activate

UNIFI CONTROLLER

• Choose a machine for download

• Install Java as a pre requisite

• Open it up and run through

wizard

• Your access point will be

discovered and you will configure

during setup
