OBJECTIVES This project deals with automatically activate siren

circuit when any person enters in the restricted area ofthe industry. This kit can be kept in between the doorand it will generate a sound if there is a breakage of thetransmission between the IR transmitter and receiver. Here we are using IR transmitter and receiver. When aperson enters inside then there will be the breakage oftransmission and it will alert the security person byactivating the buzzer (siren) circuit.

INFRARED TECHNOLOGY: Infraredtechnology allows computing devices to

communicate via short-range wireless signals. Withinfrared, computers can transfer files and other digitaldata bidirectional. The infrared transmissiontechnology used in computers is similar to that used inconsumer product remote control units.

    OUR

TECHNOLOGY/IDEA/APPROACH In our project the task of identifying the unknown

person who enters into the industry by sensor isachieved by designing a IR Based EmbeddedApplication.

    HOW IT WORKS???

When an object i.e. hands come into range of the infraredsensors detection zone, the valve is activated. After the

user removes their hands, the valve closes. The circuit ofthe Auto tap resets automatically for the next user.

Auto taps infrared Series provide the user water only whenneeded, resulting in reduced water usage and maintenance

costs. Auto tap Infrared Surround Sensors continuouslyscan the detection zone around the tap.

MICROCONTROLLER A microcontroller is a computer on chip device.

The design incorporates all off the features found inmicroprocessor CPU, ALU, PC, SP and registers. It also has

added the other features needed to make a completecomputer like ROM, RAM, parallel I/O, Serial I/O, countersand clock circuits.

It consists of three timers/counters, two 8-bit, one 16-bit.It also includes two serial communication ports, UniversalSynchronous Receive- Transmit (USART), SynchronousSerial Port (SSP). PIC16f73 is a powerful microcontroller

which provides which provides a highly flexible and cost-effective solution to many embedded control applications.

LED: LED is very useful for electronics products. It is used as

an indicator for power availability, indicator for successexecution of any processes, indicator for any alarm orfailure and so on. Without LED, electronics productscannot inform user for any action that need to be takeand cannot inform any successful execution.

CRYSTAL It is used to give energy to the micro controller.

The crystal values is in between 4MHz to 24MHz.

BUZZERA buzzeror beeperis a signalling device, usually

electronic, typically used in automobiles, householdappliances such as a microwave oven, or game shows.

It most commonly consists of a number of switches orsensors connected to a control unit that determines ifand which button was pushed or a preset time haslapsed, and usually illuminates a light on theappropriate button or control panel, and sounds awarning in the form of a continuous or intermittentbuzzing or beeping sound.

SENSOR MOC7811 is a slotted Opto isolator module, with an IR

transmitter & a photodiode mounted on it. PerformsNon-Contact Object Sensing. This is normally used aspositional sensor switch (limit switch) or as PositionEncoder sensors used to find position of the wheel. Itconsists of IR LED and Photodiode mounted facingeach other enclosed in plastic body.

    ADVANTAGES OF USING IR

TECHNOLOGY .Compatability:9.5kKz is industry standard - Home receivers can be used with public transmitters

-250 kHz if high intensity lighting 2.No spillover means security 3.Can be used in adjacent rooms 4.Widest bandwidth 115kbps and best sound reproduction 5.Appropriate for mild to moderate/severe loss 6.Not affected by radio transmission

    DISADVANTAGES OF USING IR

    TECHNOLOGY

    Receivers required for everyone

2.Must have direct line of sight

3.Cant cover the receiver or put in pocket

    4.Indoor or evening use only

5.High intensity or fluorescent lights cause

interference 6.Large areas require multiple emitter panels

    7.Quality varies with company

APPLICATIONS The Industrial Security Program provides guidance to

Canadian industry and other organizations, to ensure thesafeguarding of Protected/Classified information and

assets in the custody or under control of private sectorcontractors or individuals, in order to:

    prevent a security breach or compromise of suchinformation and assets;

prevent disruption or destruction of services; prevent theft, misuse or abuse of property, which could

hinder contract performance and could create a potentialcompromise of material.

CONCLUSIONS In this project we proposed to use sensor using IR

technology. We have successfully transmitted data andreceived data at receiver end and the result is observed

    by buzzer (siren) through Microcontroller.

So, hence we conclude that, we can easily identify theunknown person who entered into the restricted areaby IR technology which reduces effort when comparedwired technology.

When light emited by the IR LED is blocked becauseof alternating slots of the encoder disc logic level ofthe photo diode changes. This change in the logic level

can be sensed by the microcontroller or by discretehardware. This sensor is used to give position feedbackto the robot or as Limit switches.

FUTURE SCOPE In this project we truly relied on IR technology .A security

system that senses one's evil intentions and sounds analarm. Possible Not so far, of course, but who knows what

the future has in store for us. According to industry experts,we're in for some big surprises that have the potential makeour lives easier, safer, more productive and more enjoyable.
