When installing lighting in bathrooms or washrooms, it isimportant to follow safe installation and use of the right product in the right location in accordance with IEE Regs.

0 Within the bath or shower tray. All lights fitted within this area must be IP68 rated and low voltage.

Above the bath or shower to a height of 2.25m. All lights fitted within this areamust be a minimum of IP44 rated. IP44 is suitable where there is no shower head above the bath, IP65 is requiredif there is a shower head or a demountable shower hand fitting is in use.

1 600mm outside of zone 1 and a 600mm radius above washstands. All lights fitted within this area should be a minimum of IP44, unless there is a danger of direct jetspray in which case IP65 rating is required.
