Services Information Regarding Service Contact Details Philippi Counselling Southport Philippi is a Christian counselling agency

whose volunteer counsellors will work with adults, children and families whether they have a faith or not. Clients are offered an opportunity to talk freely and confidentially in a safe environment where they can explore personal issues of an emotional, psychological or spiritual nature. Special Saturdays is still running we have also opened to disadvantaged/vulnerable families, due to lack of interest from families who have children with asd/adhd. We currently have a mix of disadvantaged and SEND families and would be happy for you to recommend us to people who could benefit from sharing experiences in a calm and engaging environment. We do not require evidence of additional needs, therefore all are welcome.

The Venus Centre – Step Together

Step Together is a new programme to be delivered by Venus to support women and young women who have had one or more children permanently removed into care. The programme will run initially for 5 years and will provide support to 150 women over this time to address their needs to avoid what is or could become a cycle recurring. Whilst care proceedings are active there are usually many services involved with the family however once the children have been removed from the mothers care she is left with little or no support at a time when she is likely to be alone and depressed experiencing feelings of anger, loss and regret. At this point women are even more vulnerable to increased risk taking and an onward downward spiral of mental health.
