Tirol / Heart of the Alps · www.tyrol.com/bikesafari · Segment 3: Landeck - Imst Segment 3: Landeck - Imst Riding mellow „let‘s enjoy the scenery“ terrain between Landeck and Imst: This easy to intermediate ride is one of two segments where you cannot hop a lift to the top. The total pedalled elevation gain is nearly 1,400 meters. The route takes you from Landeck to the village of Zams, climbs up to Rifenal and curves its way down to Schönwies. With views of the surrounding countryside and the mountains of northern Inntal Valley, the scenery almost rivals the incredible trails–almost. Tourdescription The route starts in the small town of Landeck, situated at the confluence of Sanna and Inn Rivers, with a mellow ride along paved valley roads to Zams. From there, a climb brings you up to Rifenal and next up to the hamlet of Falterschein, with the trail climbing steadily with only a couple of short, steeper sections to negotiate. From Falterschein, a fun descent curves its way down to Schönwies and deposits you at the Inn Cycle Path which you follow until the route crosses the autobahn slightly beneath the small town of Imst. From there, it’s a steady climb, gaining some 980 metres of height, on a trail that cuts up the hillside through a magnificent stand of mature trees in hairpins and brings you into really dense forest.
