SEGUNDO BARRIO FUTBOL CLUB
Segundo Barrio Futbol Club was formed in the summer of 2011
Its goal is seek to promote the participation and development of youth soccer players
and youth soccer teams in El Paso's Segundo Barrio neighborhood.
By the end of summer 2011 30 children were signed up to play soccer.
Segundo Barrio FC entered two teams in the Paso Del Norte league in
the Fall season.
An under 10 team and an under 13 team.
Considering that it was our first season and most of the kids had never played
on a team before it was a great success.
The under 10 team even won their bracket championship.
Because all of our players are from low income backgrounds there is no charge to be on the
team.
The club covers the costs of registration and uniform.
Parents help out with cleats, shin pads and transportation.
No child is turned away.
Our coaches are volunteers. They are licensed with the United States Soccer Federation and
offer top quality soccer instruction.
The players come from Aoy, Hart, La Fe, and Guillen schools.
To be on the team they must maintain good grades, attendence,
and behavior in school.
It costs about $300 per player per year
This cover the costs of uniform, registration, and equipment.
Segundo Barrio Futbol Club colloborates with The Boys and Girls Club, and with La Fe, Hart and
Aoy school.
We also enjoy the generous support of donors like you.
