What is NING?Ning is a privately held American company.

It allows to create social networks on its

Internet platform.

It is free for users. So they embed some ads.

Hope users can bear it!


What is Students European House?

Students European House (SEH) is a social network.

SEH was created on the Ning platform.

It is intended to be a meeting point for

students and teachers involved in the

Comenius project “Building a European

House.”


What does SEH offer?It offers tools to communicate, share or collaborate with its members.

Services offered:Forum.Blog.Chat.Photo and video repository...


SEH Usage Rules (I)SEH is a moderated social network. It is supervised by six Administrators (one for each partner country).

SEH is a private social network. It is visible to

members only.

Only students involved in the project are

allowed to join SEH.


SEH Usage Rules (II)No restrictions on blog posts, photos or videos you are allowed to upload.

SEH Administrators will be monitoring

members posts and uploads.

Illegal or indecent material will be banned

and deleted.

How to log in first timeYour country Administrator, will send you an invitation.

You will receive an email message in your

mailbox account.

You have to click on the “Click to Join” button

Apply for membership, create your profile and

wait until your profile is approved.

How to log in later onLaunch your web browser.

Type on the address bar:


Type in your email address and password

Click on Sign In

You are done.



What can be done within SEHTake a look at the layout:

Header (Title and subtitle)Navigation bar across the top (everything that can be done is right there).Left vertical frame (some of the main features: notes, forum, photos...).Center frame (latest activity of the members).Right frame (mailbox and some other features).




What's cooking on the CommunityIf you wish to know members activity in SEH, you will take a look at Latest Activity frame.

It is located at the center of the main page.

If you wish to contribute with SEH, first take

a look at the Community Rules




You need to send an emailTo send or receive email messages, go to the inbox on the top right corner.



If you need to discuss on anythingLook at the Discussion Forum! Just in case somebody is already debating on something you are interested in. Then, you will be able to reply to that discussion.

If you need to bring forward some new ideas

for discussion, you will have to add a

discussion.



if you need to display a pictureIf you wish to show to members pictures or videos, you will go to the Media tab and choose Photos/Videos.

Click on Add Photos/Videos link on the top

right corner.





You need to share a fileIf you wish to share a digital file with members, you will go to the Media tab and choose FileSharing.

We have a 5 Gb file storage to save any

document related with our project.




You need to open a chat sessionIf you wish to talk to somebody who is on line right now, you will go to Chat under the Members tab.

You also access to a chat session if you click

on Students European House Chat on the

bottom right corner.





Inviting new friendsIf you wish to invite new friends to SEH, you will go to the Invite tab.

Then, you click on “Enter Email Addresses

Manually.”

Next, you type in your friend's email address

on the “Send To” field.

Click on “Send Invitations.”



If you wish to change your profileIf you want to change your photo, full name and so on, you will go to “My page” tab.



What's newIf there were some important announcements to broadcast, It would be placed on the “Notes” tab.

It is at the top center of SEH Main page.

Now, you have the Community Rules



Remember!Once you finish your work on SEH, you should sign out.

Social Networks, like SEH, are “Web 2.0”

style.

Anything may change in order to improve

usability.
