In a small town in Texas a girl talks and laughs with friends, surfing, painting and

drawing are things she normally does, but when she moves to Hollywood things start to

change, - screaming fans, hit singles and amazing acting skills. This is Selena Gomez!

Selena does many things as a star; one is that she is a singer. Selena thinks you can be

yourself when singing. In 2008 Selena announced her music group was called Selena Gomez

and The Scene. Their new cd called Kiss and Tell came out September 29, 2009. "Falling

down" was Selena's first single with The Scene. Their second single was "Naturally." They

performed it on The Ellen Degeneress Show. Selena considers her band as family. They're all

boys. She says they're like older brothers she never had. Here are some of Selena's music

Demi, Selena's, best friend has a different music style then Selena. Selena loves music

and she hopes her fans like her music. When Selena said she wanted to start singing everyone

thought she was trying to make a scene. That's why she called her band The Scene.

This is Selena’s CD. It came out September 2009!

Selena understands how school is for everyone. Selena went to elementary school then

she was soon home schooled. While on set of a movie or TV show, her and young actors get

tutored by a tutor. Selena has feelings about Latino education: "Education is important -period.

And for the Latino community, sometimes we get looked down on, when some of the smartest

people are Latino... so I think we should just show everyone how smart we are." Selena also

believes: "School is never really easy. In fact, I have trouble a lot. But just remember that one

day you will have to use everything you are learning and we'll be on our own without teachers

and parents, so learn everything you can now. I know it's hard, but it will be worth it."

Selena has been in love with her best friend. Before she moved to California, she told

him how she felt. It turns out he liked her too. She was happy but she had to go to California.

Selena's style is very unique. Her look is laid back. Selena loves converse and skinny jeans.

Selena is also a very good actress. Selena is proud that she had the opportunity to be on

Barney and Friends, she isn't embarrassed. Upcoming Movies: One movie she is going to be in

is Ramona and Beezus as Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby. She has the lead role. It comes out in

2010. Another Movie she is going to be in is What Boys Want. The name of her character is

unknown but she has the lead role. It comes out in 2011. Before Selena and her cast members

go on the set of Wizards of Waverley Place they all say a prayer because they wouldn't be there

without God. Selena loves when the whole cast is in the same scene. She thinks it makes the

show better.

Selena’s does a lot of work; in this section you can see how all of it pays off. Selena

won the best actress Imagine award for Wizards of Waverley Place. Selena was nominated for

another Imagine Award in outstanding performance in a youth/children's program for Wizards

of Waverley Place. Selena won 3 Teen Choice Awards: one for Celebrity Dancer for Another

Cinderella Story, another for TV female Star for Princess Protection Program and one last one

for Red Carpet Female Icon. Selena won an Alma Award for Special Achievement in Comedy

for Television for Wizards of Waverley Place. Selena was nominated for another Alma Award.

It was for Outstanding Female Performance in a youth/children's program for Wizards of

Waverley Place. Selena won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite TV actress.

Selena was nominated for Favorite International TV Star.

Selena’s life doesn’t revolve around her acting and singing career she also does other

fun things as a teenager. Family is very important to Selena. She tries to see all of her family on

holidays. Selena’s mom inspired her to go after her dream. Selena is very close to her mom.

She's her best friend sometimes she just needs to see her face. Selena's mom doesn't want

Selena to change because she's a celebrity. Selena likes hanging out with guys more than girls

because there's too much gossip when she's with girls. Selena is a tomboy and she has lots of

friends, she has a lot of friends that are boys. Selena was born July22, 1992 in New York City

and she grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was named after Tijuana singer Selena. Her

parents are divorced and she was raised by her mother. She's a single child. While Selena grew

up she was a Christian. She loved hanging out with friends. They all went to the lake that she

lived by. She loved going to the mall and the skate park. She also liked going on long walks

and going to the movies. Selena always wanted to be like her friends and she didn't want to be

Mexican. Selena Gomez is very proud to be named after famous singer Selena Perez.

As a big star Selena enjoys other things other then singing and acting. Selena loves

cooking photography, karaoke, movies, painting, drawing and singing. Selena has a really big

collection of converse that she keeps adding to. Sports that Selena plays are: surfing, basketball
