Notes to Applicants  

 

1. Please submit the completed application form together with the following supporting documents: 

1.1  Photocopy of HKID card; 1.2  Photocopy of HKBU student ID card (if applicable); 1.3  Photocopy of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma certificates and academic transcripts#; 1.4  Photocopy  of  Pre‐Associate  Degree  /  Associate  Degree  Foundation  Programme  /  Diploma  certificates  and/or  academic 

transcripts#; 1.5  Photocopy of HKDSE / HKALE / HKCEE certificates, if any; 1.6  Photocopy of GCEAL / GCEAS / GCEOL / GCSE / IGCSE results / certificates; International Baccalaureate Diploma, if 

any; 1.7  Photocopy of TOEFL / IELTS or other overseas public examination results, if any; 1.8  Photocopy of result slip of National Joint College Entrance Examination (JEE) of Mainland China, if any; 1.9  For applicants of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music Studies, the music qualification examination results (theory 

and practice) e.g. the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music (theory and practice) examination results; 1.10  For applicants with disabilities, supporting document(s) to certify the disability type and degree; 1.11  Original payment proof of application fee; and 1.12  Any other relevant supporting documents. 

#  Academic certificates(s) / transcript(s) should clearly show the Institutionʹs logo, programme title, study level and applicantʹs name. Unofficial copy of academic certificates(s) / transcript(s) will only be accepted if stamped with the Institutionʹs chop. 

Do  not  submit  the  original  examination  results  and  certificates  which  will  only  be  required  for  verification  upon admission.    Applicants  who  fail  to  produce  the  certificates  for  verification  will  result  in  disqualification  of  their applications for admission and subsequent enrolments in the University.    All submitted documents will not be returned to applicants.    For applicants who intend to apply for more than one programme, please submit one full set of application for each programme.  

2. Application Fee 

Application fee for each programme is HK$350.    Applicants may pay the application fee by the following methods: 

2.1 Payment by cheque or bank draft A crossed cheque or bank draft should be made payable to “HONG KONG BAPTIST UNIVERSITY”. (Please write down the applicant’s name and contact number at the back of the cheque or bank draft); OR 

2.2 Payment by ATM / e‐banking Applicant may settle the application fee via ATM / e‐banking with the following procedures: 

Choose <Bill Payment>, <Education> / <Education – Universities>, <Hong Kong Baptist University>, 

<07 SCE Application Fee>. 

Key in the 8‐digit Bill Account Number.    The first 4 digits is the programme code and the last 4 digits should 

be the first 4 numerical digit of the applicant’s HKID number.    For example:

Attach the original copy of the Customer Advice to the application form as the payment proof.    (Please write 

down the applicant’s name and contact number at the back).    Keep a copy of the advice for record as no other 

receipts will be issued. 

Please do not mail cash.    All fees paid are NON‐REFUNDABLE and NON‐TRANSFERABLE. 

 

3. Collection of Additional Information 

Applicants may be required to submit course syllabus for University assessment and will be notified by email / phone.

5. Login Information of Online Application System 

As the whole application procedure will be processed online, the University will send you an email with your application 

number and login information of the Online Application System within 10 working days. 

 

6. Notification of Application Results 

Applicants will be notified of interview invitation (if any) and admission results by email / phone / SMS.    You can also view 

your application status and results via the Online Application System.     

 

If  an  admission  offer  is made,  you must  decide whether  or  not  to  accept  the  offer  by  paying  a  non‐refundable  and 

non‐transferable  tuition  fee by a  specified date.    If you do not pay by  the  specified deadline, you will be  considered  as 

declining the admission offer.

8.2  The University will  keep  the  personal  information  confidential.   Meanwhile,  it  is  authorised  to  pass  applicants’

8.3  For unsuccessful applications, all documents submitted together with the application form will be destroyed by end 

of October 2020. 

 

8.4  In accordance with the Ordinance, the University is given 40 days to process applications and has the right to charge a 

reasonable search and photocopying fee for the processing of any request for access to personal data.
