SEMI Europe Achievements
• Record attendance at ISS Europe in Grenoble, Brussels Public Policy
Forum, PV Fab Mgr Forum, PVGroup production hall at Intersolar
Munich and SEMICON Russia.
• The SEMI Europe White Paper and more than 150 interactions with the
EU and national governments have led to the KET paper for a
competitive Europe in semiconductors. Now implementation is key!
• SEMI facilitated the Cell Technology and Manufacturing group (CTM)
that launched among others the International Technology Roadmap for
PV (ITRPV.net).
• Successfully established our new office in Berlin and expanded the
SEMI Europe, Grenoble Office.
• Increased membership from 190 (2009) to 256 (2010) to 280 in (2011)

Europe Market Highlights
• Over the past ten years, semiconductor manufacturers in
Europe have spent over $55 billion on semiconductor
equipment and materials
• Total installed fab capacity will grow 6% in 2011 and 5% in
2012 in Europe
• 300 mm fab capacity in Europe is expected to increase by 23% in
2011 and 14% in 2012.
• Investments in advanced process technologies and materials
drives spending in Europe:
• Equipment spending: $3.9 billion in 2012
($380 million for Test and Assembly Equipment)
