- policy formulation for standard operational procedures in the fieldsof meteorology, climatology and geophysics.
- implementation of meteorological, climatological and geophysicalobservation, data processing-analysis, and information services in the ocean and in the atmosphere.
- mandatory in the operational of meteorology, climatologyand geophysics.
- authority to announce severe weather warnings and alerts.
