Introduction:Introduction:

Tele-immersion is a new communication medium trying

to create the illusion that users at geographically

dispersed places share the same physical space.

This is achieved through realistic reconstruction of the

scenes in virtual space in real-time.

Virtual reality allows people to move around in a

computer generated 3d environment.

But

Tele-immersion is more like photography measuring

the real world and conveying the results to the sensory

system.

The CAVE virtual reality system is a 10 foot-cubed

room that is projected with stereoscopic images

creating the illusion that objects appear to co-exist

The Immersa Desk is a

drafting-table format version of theCAVE. When folded up, it fits through a standard

institutional door, and deploys into a 6 x 8 footprint.

DESKTOP WORKSTATIONThe desktop workstation displays a data-flow model

that can be used to construct the visualization that is

shared between all three display devices.

of the Power- Wall that has

tracking and stereo .

The Power Wall achieves

Conclusion:Conclusion:

Tele-Immersion provides natural interaction to the

remote world.

Tele-Immersion is a fast developing technology and it

is going to benefit the common man once Internet-2comes into picture. It also helps in reducing business

travel.

Even the fast food chain McDonalds has envisioned

fitting tele-immersion booths in its restaurants so peopleaway from home could have dinner with their family.

Hence this technology is not that far off..
