Kelmscott Senior High School is a school of opportunity for all students; offering an extensive range of courses and exciting specialist programs. We work to develop critical thinkers and effective problem solvers within our community. In hand with parents, we further the social skills of our learners, allowing them to work collaboratively with others in the real and virtual worlds. Our Respect, Resilience and Responsibility Charter outlines the expectations we have of and within our school.

With a reputation built on positive values and academic excellence we pride ourselves on the extensive education opportunities we can provide to our students. The achievements of our students are recognised within the local, national and international education communities.

We are proud to offer a suite of specialist programs and tuition in our Gifted and Talented Education, Music and Agriculture Selective Entrance Programs which foster strong links between the school and community and industry partners. The achievements of Gifted and Talented students are highlighted in elite national and international competitive forums such as the World Scholar’s Cup. In addition to our state-wide specialist programs, we offer school based specialisations in Soccer and Athletics.

Being aware of the greater world around us - our school has a proud tradition in international student exchange for both German and Japanese language programs. Showing a strong sporting prowess – our athletes are regularly represented with selection into elite state/national teams and squads in sports such as AFL, Cricket and Martial Arts.

Students in Year 12 have qualified for a range of University pathways including Medicine, Engineering, Law and Information Technology to name only a few. The school’s motto is “Strive for Excellence” and this is a value we work to foster in all students in their journey through adolescence to citizens of this ever changing contemporary world.

Each year Kelmscott Senior High School receives students from our contributory primary schools of Clifton Hills, Grovelands, Kelmscott, Kingsley and Westfield Park Primary Schools. We proudly work in partnership with these schools and their community members. Students from beyond our intake area may access to the school through our Specialist Programs.

The school’s population ranges between 1350 - 1450 students with an Aboriginal population of approximately 50 students. Students at our school have a diversity of ethnic backgrounds including Indian, Sri Lankan, European, African and Japanese to name a few. We celebrate this diversity.

Striving for excellence underpins everything we do. We aspire for students to become successful learners who have the resilience and confidence in achieving their individual best. In acknowledging the traditions of the school, we believe in the ability of students and staff to continually reflect and improve on practice and performance.

Our motto is supported by the Respect, Resilience and Responsibility Charter which outlines our expectations in the school and the wider community.

We want our students to be prepared to succeed in a twenty first century world. We create critical thinkers, problem solvers and young adults who can communicate effective in the real and virtual worlds.

We want our students to be active, engaged, global citizens who enter life post-secondary on pathways that suit their individual need, with appropriate technological skills for the modern world.

We have strength in our teaching staff and support from our community body, however most importantly, we have students who know we believe in them and their potential; students who have pride in attending Kelmscott Senior High School.
