Dear Church Family,
Thank you for all of your donations to our annual “Sweets for Your Sweetie” fundraiser. So many delicious, decorative, and delightful treats lined the tables. So many generous monetary donations filled our cans. Together our donations earned $609 for mission work. The monies will be divided equally between our mission work in Panama and the Congo.
Thank you,

CHILDREN’S
DIRECTOR: MARIANELA BORBON
Children’s Ministry is on a mission! Every quarter, we will be visiting and spreading the good news to our
community. Last month we visited Selma Convalescent Home and it made an impact in our children’s lives.
Children were able to love others in our community with a genuine Christ-like love. Children’s Ministry wants to
help expose and give children the opportunity to build relationships and build the Kingdom. Our children are
our future. We must prepare them to continue our legacy of faith and share our passion for Christ. We should
be exposing our children to the real needs in our community. Allowing them to grow spiritually as we model
what it is to serve and love others; not only by our words but with our actions. During Wednesday Nite Live we
are visiting our church members that are not able to be here every Sunday to fellowship with us. We are taking
the children to not only to visit with them, but to learn from their wisdom and experience of serving the Lord.
We want to encourage our kids to have multi-generational relationships. God has a purpose for all of us
including our children.

STUDENT MINISTRY DIRECTORS: MATT ADAMS & ISAIAH ESCOBEDO
STUDENT MINISTRY INTERN: ALLIE MCGINNIS
Hello all! It is I, Allie McGinnis, the youth intern!
A few weekends ago, we charter-bused a bunch of junior high and high school students all the way up to Hume Lake for Winter Camp. The theme this year was challenging and thought provoking. “Already, Not Yet” centered on how we don’t have to wait until eternity to experience a relationship with Jesus. As expected, Hume’s speaker brought the Word in an endearing and accessible way and everyone walked away with a better understanding of the gospel. But for me, camp was a little more than that.
I’ve heard the gospel spoken at Hume almost every year of my life since I was a junior high kid myself. And while I’m no Hume newbie, camp is always a different experience. As a counselor each year brings with it new challenges and triumphs. Particularly for me, one of the highlights of this trip was getting to see all our girls, both junior high and high school, snacking and laughing and learning infuriating card games together. It was an amazing moment for me, just to see all the different age groups and personality types able to bond and be unified. It’s so rare to see high school students connect with junior high students, if only for a night.
I’ve been volunteering/interning with the amazing youth of our church for close to four years now (that’s insane). So that makes this years trip up to Hume the fourth time I’ve counseled winter camp (that’s almost as many times as I’ve been a camper). In the past it’s been me, another female counselor and about 3-5 crazy junior high girls. I never had too much to worry about and I always had someone older and wiser to fall back on if there was something I couldn’t do. But this year was slightly different. Instead of separating junior high and high school camp this year we combined! There were still two female counselors but this time I was responsible for an entire cabin of junior highers on my own. This is something that would have daunted me four years ago, heck it would have daunted me last year. But God had been preparing me in the previous three years, slowly growing me out of my immature high school “I need an adult!” attitude and into a new, more sure “I am an adult.” I knew I could handle this, I wasn’t daunted, I was confident.
It seems like a small silly thing to get excited about, realizing I’m capable of things I’ve been capable of for years, but it serves as a reminder to God’s faithfulness. How He’s constantly working in our lives and growing us to be capable of things we used to think we couldn’t do, building our confidence as we rely on Him.
It’s been a great honor for me to be able to grow with and serve these kids and I’m excited to see what God has for Reality YM in 2018! If you’d like to be praying for our youth this month (or every month) pray that God would lead us in the direction He wants us and that His will would be done in the lives of our kids.
Thank you and God bless!
Allie
