Beyond the Sea

• Instrumentation: Classical Guitar, Bass, Drums

• Challenges: Microphones, Volume

• Successes: Had the tone I was looking for, upbeat solo.

Blue Monk

• Instrumentation: Saxophone, Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums

• Challenges: In editing, couldn’t lower volume of bass independently of other instruments.

• Successes: Nice drum work, kept tempo, quality solos.

‘Round Midnight

• Instrumentation: Electric Guitar, Bass, Drums

• Challenges: Took the longest to record, multiple takes, longest song.

• Successes: Best sound, easiest to edit.

Challenges

• Scheduling conflicts

• Editing, volume of diff. instruments

• “Red light fright”

• Technical difficulties, losing pictures.

What I Learned

• The recording process takes time, energy, dedication, creativity, and passion.

• Furthered my passion for music, peaked my interest in a music career.

• Illegal download of music takes away from the hard work that musicians put into their product for their fans.
