In a bid to revive the ancient marine heritage and pay tribute to ancestors, the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, launches Senyar Championship, for the fourth consecutive year. The championship for this year comprises three competitions of pearl diving and fishing (Lafah and Haddaq). Senyar fourth Championship registration has witnessed a record turnout of applicants.

It is noteworthy that the competitions’ winners will grab awards for the largest amount of fishing for both (Lafah and Haddaq), besides the award for fishing the largest fish in terms of weight and the largest amount of oyster. As part of its efforts to elevate this championship, the organizing committee has introduced new terms and conditions according to which, new team member from GCC countries can be included in the team.

According to the new regulations, a child, aged under ten years, can be affiliated to the team under the condition of being accompanied with his guardian, while his fishing amount will be included in the total. Also, a non- Qatari captain can be replaced by a national captain, and the number of the team will be up to 11. Unlike non-Qatari, the captain, will be permitted to take part at fishing competition.

A practical introduction to the language of symmetry in Islamic geometric patterns. Participants will construct classical patterns using traditional drafting techniques of compasses and ruler. A new pattern will be done weekly, so participants are invited to attend multiple sessions. Suitable for all levels; new students interested in exploring the beauty of Islamic patterns as well as students with past experience wishing to practice their skills. Materials will be provided.

Origami is the Japanese art of creative paper folding. It is a variety of a colorful square sheets folded to form different distinctive shapes.

It is perceived as a mean of acquiring positive energy and enhancing concentration. Themes: Land and Aquatic Animals, Birds and Insects, Flowers, Toys and Adventure, Clothes and Fashion, Decorative packing and Wrapping.

The Cultural village foundation - Katara present the Borusan Quartet and Ozgur Mert Esen on Piano as they take you in a journey exploring music from Local to Universal. Considered as one of the important interpreters among the new generation of Turkish pianists Ozgur Mert Esen, graduated from renowned St. Petersburg State Conservatory with distinction. Esen is the prizewinner of several National and International Piano Competitions and performs in globally acclaimed venues and festivals.

The award-winning Borusan Quartet was founded in 2005 in Turkey and have made their mark on the music industry. The Quartet have been recognized with awards both at home and at the International Chamber Music Competition held in the USA in 2010.

Halal Qatar Festival 2015 endeavored to present an image of the old days, and traditional portraits that reflect ingenuity and richness of the Qatari heritage. The festival comprised a number of main competitions: Al-Mezzaine (beauty), Al-Hathaer (stables), and Ahl-Elsanf (breed). The fourth edition of Halal Qatar was marked by heavy presence of schoolchildren as 4200 children attended the festival. The festival also witnessed concurrent activities, such as handicrafts, traditional food, photo gallery, folkloric games, old songs, and some shows by shepherds to explain the different types of sheep to audiences. Veterinarian was also available at the venue to afford a glimpse about issues relevant to livestock diseases. This is in addition to the old market, the horse (pony) riding and Arab camel riding for children, folkloric games, and the most prominent crafts and traditional dishes.

The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara in collaboration with the embassy of India in Doha, organized the Cultural Indian festival on the 22nd and 23rd of March. Over two days, people had a sense of India through the various events and activities presented in the festival.

Opposite of Katara Amphitheatre, there were 40 stalls that exhibited different products and services to the visitors of the Cultural Village. There were a wide range of handicrafts, clothes, tasty Indian food, and a henna tattoo stall which was highly valued by young girls, that is considered a sign of joy, celebration, and style in India.

People in Katara Amphitheatre were entertained with folkloric shows and different Indian dances. The dances were like a complete picture where beauty was in the coordination of dancers’ moves and their traditional and bright clothes. The festival presented a similar model of the Indian gate; which is a national edifice and a massive war monument in the heart of New Delhi, India.

13 - 15 March 2015Learn to Paint Portraits Workshop by Sylvia Castellanos Katara Art Studios, Building 19

Portraiture is one of the most complex forms of art. Learn the secrets to painting people from veteran portraitist Sylvia Castellanos. Over three days she explained what makes for a good portrait, the rules of anatomy for the face and the color combinations for achieving skin tones.

Students will have ample opportunity to put into practice what they have learned, and to have their results critiqued by Ms. Castellanos. Students brought two small canvas boards or canvases. The size 9" x 12" (22 cm x 30 cm) is suggested. All other materials will be provided.

27 - 28 March 2015Contemporary Collage Workshop by Johnatan Machado Katara Art Studios, Building 19

Johnatan Machado has developed his work on the continuous experimentation of techniques, ranging from photography to painting, to collage and working with unconventional materials. In this time he taught us how to do the weavings through the creation of various patterns that he uses in his artworks.

ArtworkThe latest series is called "Weaved canvases". These pieces are the result of mixing two canvases that the artist created separately, these are then cut and weaved together, resulting in a single painting. The technique combines painting and collage.

Ameera al-Aji addresses the concept of “difference,” and the possibilities and challenges of being “different” in her abstract art. In her exploration of the “self,” the “other” and the many-facets of what she perceives as “different," she draws on the triangles which have persisted in her memory and her interactions with her environment, and which are also part of the traditional designs widely used in the regional wool-crafts and textiles called sadou.

One of the main objectives of the Outdoor Art Market is to stimulate the art market in Doha and to support Qatar based artists through maximizing opportunities for them to both exhibit and sell works, affordable to a general audience interested in Art.

The Outdoor Art Market team is counting on the support of all artists and the artistic community in this ambitious monthly effort towards developing more organized and focused opportunities for artists to be able to exhibit and sell their artwork in Doha in the relaxed and festive KATARA outdoors! All artwork must be original, produced by the artists, and signed. Limited editions must be appropriately numbered or identified as artist’s proofs. Reproductions must be clearly identified, Wearable Art and Fine Crafts must be of original design and individually made. The maximum price for the artworks to be exhibited is QAR 3000.00.

The Cultural Village Foundation “Katara” hosted the Moldovan Folkloric Night that featured the band of the Moldovan Music Academy in Katara Opera House. The concert was marked by heavy presence of audiences from all walks of life. The band performed dazzling musical tracks and a wide range of dancing shows of the Moldovan folklore, performed by the elegant dancing stars of Moldova in their traditional and colorful attire, which are adorned with embroidery and beautiful bright designs. This bestowed an aura of joy and happiness in the atmosphere. The shows were taken well by the audiences amid great music by the zamfir, which bore pleasant Romanian folkloric music.

The spectacular shows of flying Kites with various huge sizes, different designs, and assorted brilliant colours have garbbed a significant turnout of visitors.

The audience enjoyed the display of Korean Kites that flown on high altitudes, amazing maneuvers, with high accuracy and skills by Korean kite runners, so the visitors of Katara were dazzled by the entertaining shows, within the distinctive overwhelming atmosphere of Spring in Doha. The event has also included a workshop for kite design and an exhibition for kites.

جمهورية وسفارة "كتارا" الثقافي للحي العامة المؤسسة نظمت كوريا الجنوبية بالتعاون مع الجمعية الكورية للطائرات الورقية، فعالية البحرية الواجهة على أقيمت والتي الكورية( الورقية الطائرات (بأحجامها الكورية الورقية الطائرات عروض تنوعت حيث لـ)كتارا(، التصاميم المتعددة المشرقة، الجذابة الحية وألوانها العمالقة الورقية الطائرات بمشاهدة )كتارا( جمهور استمتع إذ واألشكال، التي حلقت على ارتفاعات عالية، وفق مناورات حركية انسيابية رائعة المحترفين من عدد قبل من عالية، ومهارة بدقة ُنّفذت وشيقة، ورشة تنظيم العرض تضمن كما . فاتنة ربيعية أجواء في الكوريين،

عمل لصناعة الطائرة الورقية شارك فيها عدد كبير من األطفال.

احتضنت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي )كتارا( األمسية الموسيقية المولودفية، الموسيقى( )أكاديمية فرقة أحيتها التي المولودفية والتي أقيمت على مسرح دار األوبرا بكتارا ، وسط حضور جماهيري خاللها قدمت المسرح، مدرجات به غّصت األطياف ومتنوع كثيف الفلكلور من متنوعة راقصة ولوحات شجية موسيقية مقطوعات المولدوفي الرقص وفراشات عصافير بتأديتها قامت المولدوفي، آخر حينا واختالت والملونة، البيضاء بأجنحتهما حينًا رفرفت التي الجميلة والرسوم بالزركشات المطرز التقليدي المولدفي بلباسها من الكثير لتالقي والسرور، والمتعة البهجة أجواء لتنثر الزاهية، االعجاب واالستحسان، عبر معزوفات موسيقية، عذبة وساحرة، امتزجت

معها أنغام آلة الزامفير بموسيقاها الرومانية الشعبية .

أقامت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي )كتارا( معرض السوق الفني العربية والدول قطر من الفنانين من عدد بمشاركة وذلك المفتوح، )كتارا( سوق في المعروضة الفنية األعمال اشتملت حيث واألجنبية، عماًل )500( من أكثر على شهر، كل نهاية في يقام الذي المفتوح الزيتية والمائية والرصاص، باأللوان بين لوحات رسمت تنوعت ما فنيا

ومنحوتات صخرية، وصور فوتوغرافية .

التي والتحديات واإلمكانيات االختالف مفهوم العجي أميرة تتناول الذات واآلخر التجريدي وتستكشف تكمن فيما هو مختلف في فنها والجوانب العديدة إلدراكها لما هو مختلف حيث تلجأ إلى المثلثات التي من جزًء تشكل والتي بيئتها، مع وتفاعالتها لذاكرتها مالزمة ظلت التصاميم التقليدية المستخدمة على نطاق واسع في الحرف اليدوية

المصنوعة من الصوف والمنسوجات المحلية.

يعتبر رسم الوجوه أحد أكثر أشكال الفن تعقيدا، وقد حظي المشاركون في الورشة بفرصة تعلم رسم الناس مع الخبيرة سيلفيا كاستيالنوس، من النوع لهذا الصحيحة الطرق بشرح أيام ٣ مدار على قامت حيث الصحيحة األلوان الوجه وتركيبة لرسم الفنية القواعد ، وبيان الرسم،

للحصول على لون البشرة.

كما قام المشاركون بتطبيق ما تعّلموه تحت إشراف وتوجيه السيدة كاستيالنوس.

محاوالت على بناًء الفّني عمله بتطوير ماشادو جوناثان قام لقد متواصلة باعتماد عدة تقنيات، والتي تتراوح بين التصوير والرسم، إلى اللصق واستعمال مواد غير تقليدية، وسيقوم الفنان بتعليمنا كيفية

صنع مختلف األشكال التي يستعملها في أعماله الفنية.

العمل الفّني المنسوجة"، "اللوحات مسمى أعماله من سلسلة أخر على ويطلق وتتمثّل هذه األعمال في تركيب لوحتين كان الفنان عملهما كل واحدة على انفراد، ثّم قطعهما ولصقهما معًا، ونتج عن ذلك لوحة واحدة،

وتشمل هذه التقنية الرسم واللصق.

المسرح المكشوف والواجهة البحرية بكتارا

مهرجان حالل قطر ٢0١5، سعى إلى تقديم صورة مماثلة لحياة الماضي ولوحات تراثية تعكس أصالة التراث القطري ومضامينه الثرية، وقد تضمن عددا من الفعاليات األساسية و هي مسابقة المزاين و مسابقة الحظائر إلى جانب مسابقة جلسة أهل الصنف. وشهد مهرجان حالل قطر في دورته الرابعة إقباال كبيرا من قبل طلبة المدارس حيث وصل العدد اإلجمالي لطلبة المدارس 4٢00 طالب طيلة أيام المهرجان. كما تضمن المهرجان عددا من الفعاليات المصاحبة مثل الحرف اليدوية واألطعمة التقليدية والصور واأللعاب الشعبية واألغاني القديمة، ومشاركة بعض رعاة الغنم في المهرجان للتعريف بالحالل وأنواعه.وتواجد طبيب بيطري قام بشرح بعض األمور المتعلقة بصحة الحالل واألمراض التي قد يتعرض لها. فضال عن وجود السوق القديم و فعالية ركوب الخيل)بوني(لألطفال وركوب الجمل العربي و األلعاب الشعبية الى جانب عرض ألبرز الحرف و

األكالت الشعبية.

نظمت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي كتارا بالتعاون مع سفارة الهند، المهرجان الثقافي الهندي الذي شهد إقبااًل جماهيريا كبيًرا على مدى يومي ٢٢و٢٣ مارس الماضي، عاش الجمهور خاللها أجواء رحلة رائعة إلى الهند من خالل مختلف الفعاليات و األنشطة ، فعلى امتداد كورنيش والمأكوالت والملبوسات اليدوية الحرف مختلف الثقافي الحي لزوار قدمت 40خيمة نصبت المكشوف، للمسرح المقابلة الجهة وفي كتارا

الهندية الشهيرة و الحناء التي شهدت اقباال كبيرا من الفتيات حيث تعد الحناء رمزا من رموز الفرح و االحتفال و الزينة في الهند.

كما تابع الجمهور في المسرح المكشوف عروًضا فلكلورية ورقصات متنوعة من مختلف مناطق الهند. جاءت على شكل لوحات متكاملة زادتها جماال تناسق حركات العارضين و رونق مالبسهم التقليدية ذات األلوان الزاهية. كما قدم المهرجان نموذًجا مشابًها لبوابةالهند التاريخية، والتي

تعتبر صرًحا وطنًيا في الهند.

استقطبت استديوهات كتارا في المبنى ١9 جمهورا غفيرا من عشاق األعمال اليدوية و اإلبداعية في ورشة األوريجامي التي تقام كل يوم سبت طيلة شهري مارس وابريل ، وذلك بإشراف الفنانة افشين من الساعة ٢ إلى ٧مساء حيث تناولت هذه الورشة مواضيع متنوعة هي األرض

والحيوانات البحرية، الطيور والحشرات، الزهور، األلعاب والمغامرات، المالبس واألزياء، التغليف والتزين.

ويعتبر فن )األوريجامي( الذي ظهر في اليابان وبدأ يتوسع وينتشر في جميع أنحاء العالم، من أشكال الفن الحديث، حيث يهدف الى تحويل الورق الملون والمسطح من خالل تقينات الطي الى جسم ثالثي األبعاد، لصنع أشكال دقيقة ومعقدة كما احتضنت )كتارا( ورشة عمل الكوالج المعاصر للصور، وهو فن بصري يدوي يعتمد على ابتكار أجزاء وقطع من القصاصات والورق الملون والصور الفوتوفرافية البداع أعمال فنية

مبتكرة على قطعة من الورق والقماش.

تقّدم لمؤّسسة العامة للحي الثقافي كتارا سهرة موسيقية يعزف فيها الرباعي بوروسان وأوزور ميرت إيسن أجمل األنغام على البيانو في الجديد، الجيل إلى المنتمين األتراك البيانو عازفي وأشهر أهم أحد إيسن ميرت أوزور يعتبر حيث العالمية، المؤسسة فيها تستكشف رحلة وقد تخرج بتفّوق من معهد سانت بيترسبرغ للموسيقى، كما فاز بعدة جوائز وطنية ودولية في مسابقات البيانو وقّدم عروض موسيقية في

مهرجانات ومناسبات متعددة في أنحاء العالم.

ويشار إلى أن مجموعة الرباعي بوروسان تأسست سنة ٢005 في تركيا واستطاعت هذه المجموعة أن تحقق نجاحا وشهرة في مجالها، وقد حازت على عدة جوائز محلية وعالمية، كما تّم تكريمها في المسابقة العالمية للغرفة الموسيقية التي أقيمت بالواليات األميريكية المتحدة في

اللجنة المنظمة لهذه السنة أنه يحق للفريق الواحد مشاركة شخص وضمن سعيها للتجديد في كل نسخ هذه البطولة أقرت واحد خليجي من ضمن اليزوه. كما يحق لكل فريق أن يسجل مشاركة طفل واحد دون العشر سنوات شرط أن يكون مرفوقا بولي أمره و بذلك يدخل صيده بالوزن. كما يحق للفريق استبدال كابتن المحمل)إذا لم يكن قطريا( بكابتن قطري ليصبح العدد االجمالي للفريق 11 شخصا و بذلك يشارك الكابتن القطري معهم في عملية الصيد. مع العلم أنه إذا لم يكن الكابتن قطري فإنه ال يحق له

المشاركة مع فريقه في عملية الصيد.

اإلسالمية. الهندسة في التماثل ألنماط عملي تقديم تقديم بفرصة الورشة هذه في المشاركون وسيحظى الفرجار تعتمد تقليدية تقنيات باستخدام كالسيكية تصاميم حيث أسبوعيٌا، جديد نمط على سيتعرفون كما والمنقلة. مع تتناسب الوسائل، متعددة تدريبية لدورات سيخضعون الراغبين الطالب فيهم: بما التعليمية، مستوياتهم اختالف في اكتشاف جماليات أنماط الهندسة اإلسالمية، والطالب من ذوي الخبرة الراغبين في صقل مهارتهم في أنماط الهندسة

اإلسالمية. وسيتم خالل الورشة توفير المعدات الالزمة.
