CNN once stated that sleeping in Seoul is for losers.
With so much to do in Korea's capital after sundown,
they argued, hitting the pillow could only be a waste of time.
For Seoul is a new world at night: as its glittering lights pop on to
hail the onset of evening, a whole other urban landscape awakes
where shining shopping malls, steamy saunas, and lively clubs
and bars can be enjoyed round the clock. Relish the refreshing
breeze while cycling along the riverbanks at night, and when
hunger calls, enjoy a generous and delicious late night meal.
Seoul — the city that never sleeps — shows a beautiful new side
at night, and is full of shimmering and mesmerizing lights.

Seoul, My StoryThere was a full moon over the Cheonggyecheon Stream, where many different people from different backgrounds were passing by and enjoying one of the last warm nights of the year. There were office employees who had come here to relax after a busy day. Children were playing near the water accompanied by their parents, who were busy worrying they didn’t fall into the gushing stream. Beautiful young couples, completely in love, were engulfed within their own universe and not paying attention to anyone besides themselves. Birds were flying in the evening sky and even the fish could be seen in the lucid waters. SALAMAT SADYKOVA From Kyrgyzstan

must do
After midnight is when Dongdaemun Market really comes to life, a time when business seems to pick up in earnest. Because Dongdaemun is the epicenter of Korea’s fashion industry, any item related to fashion can be purchased here. In fact, there are so many large-scale shopping complexes in the area that it is better to pick out one or two suitable to one’s tastes rather than trying to see all of them. The area is packed with simple meal choices for late-night snacking, including topokki and shish-kebabs. When shopping begins to take its toll, then a massage at a 24-hour jjimjilbang (Korean spa) or watching a movie at an all-night movie theater is recommended.

Seoul, My StoryStraight from a 4-hour flight we are all tired and starving. So we started our night with a street food stall hopping in and around the Dongdaemun night market area. We had topokki (Spicy Rice Cake), one of the staple Korean street foods. Rice cakes cooked in chili paste. It was so good and perfect for the weather. Coming from a tropical country makes us limited to winter clothes but it was never a problem because Dongdaemun night market has the answers to all we need. Open til 4am the next morning, you’ll be going gaga over the hundreds of shops to choose from. ANGELO CARLO CATIVO From the Philippines
Dakhanmari Kalguksu (Whole chicken and noodles)
This is a type of baeksuk (boiled meat dish) featuring an entire chicken boiled together with potatoes, spring onions, and tteok (rice cakes). In general, once all of the chicken has been eaten, hand-kneaded noodles are cooked in the remaining broth as a second course. Koreans also like to add garlic sauce, kimchi and other seasonings to the soup. The restaurant Jinokhwa Halmae, open since 1978, was included in the Michelin guide for Korea. .11am-10:30pm .Dongdaemun Stn (Lines 1, 4),

Popular with Koreans of all ages, topokki (spicy soft rice cake), eomuk (fish cake) and grilled shish-kebabs can be spotted frequently on Seoul’s streets, where topokki is often eaten together with eomuk soup. Grilled shish-kebabs of chicken, rice cakes or dongaseu and other options with spicy and sweet gochujang (Korean chili paste) are especially recommended.

Relax at a jjimjilbang (Korean spa), or Korean sauna
Yongsan
must do
Itaewon is home to much of Seoul’s inter-national community as it houses the United States Army Garrison, many overseas ambassadorial quarters, and the Seoul Central Mosque, the only Muslim temple in the city. There are also various international restaurants and shops selling all kinds of foods and wares. It is ideal for night owls, offering a variety of options available till late at night through its many high-quality restaurants, bars, and clubs.
Vibrant, Multicultural Fun for Night Owls
Clubbing in Itaewon
Expect to find more foreign clientele at Itae-won’s clubs than elsewhere. Revelers tend to be mostly in their late 20s or above, and clubs adopt a freer dress code and manner compared to those in Gangnam. Halloween is an especially-recommended time to visit as most establishments will cater to the occasion, with clubbers costuming up in suitable attire, from brain-dead zombies to Korean-style monsters, and creating a festive mood across the district.

must eat Tasting the World at Itaewon’s Late-night Restaurants
Seoul, My StoryItaewon’s character can be crazy, noisy and pricey, but it is also festive, international, fun, and of course, touristy. And tonight, during our discovery, it was all that! In Itaewon, everyone is welcome. This place doesn’t choose or discriminate against you, no matter what language you speak, no matter what the color of your skin is, or no matter what country you are from. Itaewon doesn’t try to define you. It’s up to you to define Itaewon. ANGELO CARLO CATIVO From the Philippines
Itaewon is filled with many great restaurants serving the foods of many cultures world-wide as cooked by professional chefs from across the globe. What best makes the area international is the availability of cuisine you may not have tried before, the exotic atmospheres of the restaurants, and music to which you may not have been exposed previously.

Gangnam
must do
The famous Gangnam region of Seoul consists of locally well-known districts Apgujeong-dong, Cheongdam-dong, and Sinsa-dong, where can be found high-class restaurants and luxury fashion brand shops, cafes and clubs fre-quented by local celebrities. Of course, it was PSY who really put Gangnam on the map, and thanks to Gangnam Style, it is now Seoul’s most popular tourist area. Stop by Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong for brunch or dessert during the day and then drop by one of the local clubs and spend the night as if you were Beyonce, Lady Gaga, or any major celebrity.
Gangnam Style Nightlife for Trendsetters
Going to a Clubin Gangnam
Gangnam’s classy clubs are the destination of choice for fashion-lovers and trendsetters – not to mention local famous figures - so style and sophistication is a must. If you are wearing sweatpants or flip flops, you may not be allowed to enter. Admission is generally higher here than clubs elsewhere in Seoul, however these are the places to go to truly experience ‘Gangnam style’.

Seoul, My StoryThe first time I visited Gangnam, it was immediately obvious that this place is where it all happens. You could spend a whole day just walking around Coex Mall, nevermind the tree-lined shops and galleries of Garosu-gil, the department stores of Apgujeong, or the boutiques of Cheongdam. Of course night time is when it really comes to life – when there’s a restaurant and bar for every taste and a hundred new people to meet each night. They say ‘Gangnam’ means ‘south of the river’, but it’s definitely the center of the action for me!BEN JORDAN From Australia
