In God’s story we find our own story.

We often think of our life as a mishmash of hundreds of individual moments in time. But what if everything we experience is really part of one great narrative?

Starting today with our new series, we’re going to learn to see the Bible as one story and find a daily purpose in God’s eternal plan.

The Story Group SignupsDive deeper into the power of God’s story through our 8-week group study beginning September 28.

Connect and grow in your relationship with Jesus and with others. Choose among women’s groups, men’s groups, young adult groups, parent groups and community groups.

Groups will meet weekly, about an hour and a half, and you’ll receive a specially written curriculum to help you learn more about how your story fits into the greatest story ever told.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

—Romans 12:15–18

My daughter, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

—Proverbs 2:1–5

BAPTISMSThis morning we celebrate the baptisms of children. As we baptize these children and welcome them into our church family, we make a commitment to nurture their faith, praying for the day when they make their own decision to claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

STUDENT

MINISTRY

FIFTY6 • MIDDLE SCHOOL • HIGH SCHOOL

At its heart, Student Ministries is a place where

everyone is invited. We desire to walk alongside

students as they discover for themselves a

vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus.

OUR MISSION

To invite into our ministry and disci

ple every

student, wherever they are spiritually, and

assist them in becoming devoted followers

of Jesus Christ.

STUDENT MINISTRY OPEN HOUSE

On September 14 from 5:00–

7:00 pm, we encourage parents

of students in 5th–12th grades to

meet the Student Ministry team,

learn about what we’re planning,

and hear our vision for making a

lasting impact on the spiritual lives

of students at the Correll home:

3974 Vermont Road

Atlanta, GA 30319

Page 7: Sep 14 Bulletin

FIFTY 6Fifty6, our ministry for fifth and sixth grade students, meets on Sunday mornings from 10:00–11:05 am in room 4108 in the Lodge and serves as a bridge between Children’s and Student Ministries to support the transition from childhood to adolescence.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School, consisting of 7th and 8th grade

students, meets for Plugged In on Sunday

mornings from 10:00–11:05 am in room 4107 in

the Lodge.

Another exciting event that happens every year

is Confirmation. All 8th graders are invited to

participate in Confirmation starting early each

fall. This is an opportunity for students to formally

make their own profession of faith in Jesus Christ

and join the church as active members.

HIGH SCHOOLHigh schoolers meet for Wired, our Sunday morning program, at 10:00 am in room 4111, the Canyon.
