“Separate Unto Me”(Acts 13:1-3)

The Antioch Church

Acts 13:1-3Now there were these prophets and teachers in the church at Antioch: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen (a close friend of Herod the tetrarch from childhood) and Saul.

While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate unto me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, after they had fasted and prayed and placed their hands on them, they sent them off.

Romans 10:13-15

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?

Matthew 9:35-38

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
