A new meeting place, a new chef: how would our members respond? Well, it appears that they responded positively. We had more than 50 club members and guests at the inaugural meeting and everyone seemed pleased with the food, service, general brightness of the room and round tables. The sound system will need fine tuning, some suggested. President Thor recognized Karol Rinehart for her hard work in evaluating locations and helping with the move to the Rodeway Inn. A new beginning for our 90-year old club

After many years at the National Park Theater, the Rotary Club of Estes Park movedto a new location on Thursday, Sept. 1. A new meeting place, a new chef: how wouldour members respond? Sept. 8 program to feature Visit Estes Park CEO

President and CEO of Visit Estes Park Elizabeth Fogarty will speak at the Rotary Clubof Estes Park on Thursday, Sept. 8, at their regular noon meeting. She will discussVisit Estes Park, a destination marketing organization, and how it supports tourism inour community. Please note the change in location for Rotary Club meetings.

Fogarty will share how Visit Estes Park supports Estes Park’s economic vitalitythrough tourism marketing, destination product development, event promotion, andcommunity partnerships. Visit Estes Park is a data-driven, research-basedorganization which develops and executes strategies to enhance the quality of life forour residents and supports a year-round economy for our community. Elizabeth was Vice President of Operations at Estes Park Condos from 2005–2013,while also participating with the Estes Park Wedding Association, Estes ValleyPartners for Commerce, and Project Manager of the Estes Park Winter Festival 2010-2013. Elizabeth was the recipient of “Volunteer of the Year” for Estes Park in 2011. Currently, Elizabeth is Vice President of the Estes Area Lodging Association, LarimerCounty Small Business Development Center Consultant, and Executive BoardMember of the Estes Park Economic Development Corp. Othercommittees include Town of Estes Park Events Committee, WellnessCommittee, and Colorado Tourism Office Travel Resources MarketingCommittee.

Sept. 1 meeting notes The September 1 meeting of the Rotary Club of Estes Park was called to orderat noon by President Thor. The meeting took place at the Rodeway Inn. He stated howhappy we were to be at our new location and introduced the Rodeway staff. He alsothanked Karol Rinehart for all her efforts in making the transition work. The invocationwas given by Jack Boatman, followed by the song and pledge led by Dave Evans. JayHarroff introduced visiting Rotarians: Tom Patterson from Marion, Iowa; and Mark Hallfrom The Sunrise club. Other guests were Jill Lancaster, Sander Anderson, KevinMullin, Dr. Mark Haines and Lois Sumey.

Past President Scott drew laughs with his weekly humor.

Mark Hall introduced Sander, our exchange student from Denmark, who talked brieflyabout his background.

Don Widrig announced a $3,000.00 profit from the garage sale.Pete Sinnott gave a WinterFest glass to Bob Brunsen, as his broke during hismove.Elk Fest will be 10/1 and 10/2. Volunteers are needed to pour beer.Reservations are needed each week for lunch...this is different from the OtherSide. Rodeway needs a head count each week. All reservations should besent to Karol Rinehart.

Happy Money

Rob Ludlum was happy to be in attendance.Tom Maher was happy to be home from a month in Spain...they did a homeexchange.Bob Brunsen was happy to receive his glass from Pete.

ProgramRick Taylor introduced our speaker, Jerry Kennell, from the Estes ValleyLegacy. President Thor had Jerry sign a library book in honor of his presentation.

The meeting was adjourned with the 4-way Rotary test.
