September 2012 Quarterly Report
30 September 2012 Page 2
1. WOODLAWN PROJECT Woodlawn Project The Woodlawn Project comprises the Woodlawn Retreatment Project, the Woodlawn Underground Project and the Woodlawn Regional Exploration Project. The Woodlawn Retreatment Project (the “WRP”) is expected to process approximately 11 million tonnes of tailings produced by the former Woodlawn Mine. Processing will produce separate zinc, copper and lead concentrates that contain by-product silver and gold. The WRP’s planned production rate is approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum with an expected mine life of approximately 7.5 years. All metallurgical test work, engineering studies and financial modeling have been completed with the business case confirming a low-risk mining and processing project with strong economics at long term projected metal prices. The Woodlawn Underground Project (the “WUP”) involves the evaluation of re-establishing underground mining at Woodlawn to complement the WRP and sustain production for the longer term. The former Woodlawn Mine’s historical production is reported as approximately 13.8 million tonnes at 9.1% zinc, 3.6% lead, 1.6% copper, 0.5 g/t gold 74 g/t silver. The high-grade nature of this deposit and the demonstrated potential to re-establish mining operations makes this a high priority project for TriAusMin. Recent drilling at the WUP has confirmed the potential to add resources down-dip to the previously mined ore lenses. The Company has defined an Exploration Targeta of 6-7 million tonnes for a 200 metre depth extension to the former operation based on historical mine production and remaining Resources. TriAusMin’s Woodlawn Regional Exploration Project is aimed at the discovery and delineation of additional base and precious metal resources along strike from the Woodlawn deposit and within 50 kilometres of the WRP/WUP processing infrastructure that would provide either satellite feed opportunities or be developed on a stand-alone basis. The Company’s objective is to re-establish mining operations at Woodlawn and provide long life, sustainable mineral production.
Woodlawn Retreatment Project (WRP)
During the quarter the Company continued to advance the development-ready position of the WRP. This work included the preparation of the final reporting submissions necessary for statutory development approvals and the commencement of preliminary assessments of the processing equipment and engineering contractors with the aim of optimising the development costs, timeframes and operating efficiencies of the project.
WRP - Environmental Assessment (EA)
Following public exhibition and comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) during the June quarter, Parsons Brinckerhoff completed and lodged the Submissions Report with the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure at the end of September. The Submissions Report is designed to respond to questions and comments made by government agencies, local council(s), the general public and other potential stakeholders on the EA.
a The Exploration Target is conceptual and, to date, there has been insufficient exploration to define a Mineral Resource and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the determination of a Mineral Resource. The Exploration Target assumes the continuation of down dip mineralisation and is based on the historical mine production (13.8Mt @ 9.1% Zn, 1.6% Cu, 3.6% Pb, 74g/t Ag & 0.52g/t Au) and the remaining Measured, Indicated & Inferred Resource (10.1Mt @ 10.2% Zn, 4.0% Pb, 1.8% Cu, 84g/t Ag & 0.51g/t Au) to the 2150mRL.
September 2012 Quarterly Report
30 September 2012 Page 3
The Company expects that, following further review by the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, it will be issued with and provided the opportunity to negotiate a set of draft conditions by the end of the December quarter. Subject to these conditions satisfying all parties, the Company expects to be granted approval to develop the Project. WRP – Capital Optimisation As part of a project development capital review program commenced during the quarter, two initiatives are currently being advanced with the specific aim of reducing the development capital required to construct the WRP. The first of these initiatives is the assessment of potential savings that can be made through the acquisition of used plant and equipment that has recently become available. A number of complete sulphide processing plants have appeared on the market in the last 3 to 6 months and have the potential to supply a substantial portion of the WRP equipment requirements. In addition, these plants may provide a low cost avenue to acquire the crushing and grinding equipment that would be needed for the underground project. Evaluation of these options will continue into the next quarter. The second initiative centres on the provision of the process plant under alternative construction and financing approaches. This has the benefit of pushing out the plant capital cost into a period when the project is supported by cash flow from operations. This type of financing structure is being considered by processing and engineering companies as the industry wide pipeline of construction works diminishes and alternatives are sought to maintain business levels. This assessment program will continue in parallel with the used plant options.
WRP – Middlings Concentrate Dam
Adjacent to the former open pit and plant site was a storage dam of low grade concentrate, previously left from the prior processing operations. Drilling of ten holes in May 2011, with an average drill hole depth of 3.5 metres, returned average grades of 1.5% Cu, 6.6% Pb, 3.5% Zn, 1.0 g/t Au, 201 g/t Ag. As part of the ongoing site rehabilitation works and in conjunction with Veolia Environmental Services, TriAusMin held the option to relocate this material for later commercial purposes through the WRP. Given the high grade nature of this material (greater than 3.5 times the value of the average tailings metal content at current prices) the Company undertook the relocation of this material to the northern tailings dam for later reprocessing through the WRP. Relocation of this material commenced in August 2012 and 2,477 truckloads (estimated at 29,000m3) of concentrate was moved. This material has not been included in the Reserves and will be processed and recovered when this dam is mined as part of the project mining schedule.

Woodlawn Underground Project
Following on from the completion earlier this year of the very successful first phase drilling program that targeted the down plunge extensions of the previously mined ore lenses, the Company has commenced the evaluation and planning work for the next phase of work. The target is to define further resources in these areas providing added support to the reopening of the underground mining operation. This will be completed in the next quarter with additional drilling to follow shortly thereafter.
2. EXPLORATION PROJECTS
Overflow (EL 5878 85% and EL 7941 100% TriAusMin)
During the quarter the Company conducted a thorough data review of the Overflow Project. The project is situated mid-way between Mineral Hill and Nymagee in central west New South Wales. The project features the historical Overflow Mine, a structurally-controlled, polymetallic deposit within felsic volcanics. The Overflow Mine lies within the same regional setting as the Mineral Hill deposit and was a past producer of gold, silver and lead with minor copper and zinc mined sporadically between 1895 and 1935. Documented exploration work spans the period from 1957 to the present. During the quarter substantial historical drilling and surface geochemical datasets were compiled and validated, and historical geophysical datasets were digitised and/or reviewed. The drilling database now consists of 306 holes, the surface geochemical database 3,532 soil samples and 430 rock samples (incomplete). Geophysical datasets including airborne magnetics and VTEM (2011 airborne survey) and ground surveys (historical IP and ground EM completed in 1977-78 and 1982 respectively) were reviewed. There are 7 main targets outside of the historical mine that feature strong geochemical anomalism (Figure 3). One hundred and thirty-eight of the 206 holes (67%) completed outside the immediate mine area are shallow RAB holes; and of the remaining 68 RC and diamond
September 2012 Quarterly Report
30 September 2012 Page 5
holes only 21 have total depths of more than 100 metres and two holes total depths greater than 200 metres. The implication is that none of the targets have been adequately drill tested. Previous reporting at the Parkvale target (Figure 3) includes narrow high grade intersections including 0.70m grading 5.75% Cu and 1.19% Pb (diamond drillhole BO-1A drilled in 1977) have never been followed-up. The Prettyview South target has not been drilled, yet features Au-As and Pb-Zn soil anomalism over areas of up to 600 by 400m. This is along strike from, and in a similar geological setting to Spooky Hill (Figure 3). Spooky Hill features a gold-only style of mineralisation with one drill intersection of 10m grading 1.18g/t Au (0.5ppm cut-off) in a hole that was terminated in a cavity within this mineralised zone. This zone also remains open down-dip and to an extent along strike. A number of preliminary work programs have been proposed to advance exploration on these regional targets.

Mulloon (EL 7469, 100% TriAusMin)
Assay results for outstanding 14 rock samples (BBRC006 to BBR019 inclusive, lab batch number OR12162515) collected from the Bombay area in July 2012 were received during the quarter. The samples predominantly consisted of quartz vein material collected from subcrops, an unnamed underground drive and shallow prospecting pits cross-cutting volcanic or intrusive host rocks (Figure 4). Metal values for this sample batch were generally subdued with some weak anomalism for arsenic, silver, lead and zinc (Table 1). A follow-up program over the areas of interest is under consideration.

Goodrich Resources (ASX:GRX) reported their intention to drill on the Calarie Project in the next quarter. Five drill holes are planned at the Lachlan Mine to test depth extensions to the existing mine resource. A further two holes are planned for the Bald Hill prospect targeting a resistivity anomaly that coincides with high grade rock chips and historical mine workings.
